Thanks for the question! These wheels will be a direct fit with your factory suspension and shouldn't cause any rubbing issues with the 275/35-18 tire size. The wider front tire that these wheels will let you run will certainly reduce some of the understeer you might see with this chassis. The other side of this coin is increasing the potential of oversteer when at the limits of grip on track. In our opinion, square setups lead to more neutral handling for this chassis on track and having the ability to rotate your wheels and tires between the front and rear axles will save on tire wear significantly over the life of the set.

With that being said, if you'd prefer to maintain the stock handling balance but raise your overall levels of grip, our staggered 18" option will let you run wider front and rear tires overall and is another great fitment. If the car is going to see the track regularly I would still recommend the square 18x10 option.

I see. Thanks for the reply. I am not aiming to improve overall grip since I would probably stay with factory suspension for a very long time. The factory suspension does not work very well with high grip tires as the spring rate is too low. The main reason I am considering a separate wheel tire set is that I don't want to bent factory wheels at track, as they are too expensive to replace. The square setup is quite attractive as it allows tire rotation.

I saw in your fitment guide that you recommend 275/35/18 over 275/40/18 tires. Is that due to availability of tires or is there any rubbing concerns with 275/40/18 tires? As far as I can tell, the diameter of 275/40/18 is more closer to 275/35/19, which is OEM tire size.

Also is there any of your clients from SpeedSF are currently using OEM+ setup? It would be great if I can see the fitment in person.

Correct, its mainly for tire availability. Either size can work for this application but 275/35-18 is available in a wider variety of tire models and at local tire shops. The 275/40-18 is much closer to the OE rear wheel and tire diameter but actually slightly further away from the OE front diameter than the 275/35-18. Neither one will cause any issues with your stability or traction control.

edit: 275/40-18 tires may cause rubbing on the front spring perch with tire compounds that run wide.

Our Market Research Manager Joe McGuigan is actually an instructor with Speed SF (red MR2/MRS, white BRZ) and several of his friends are running our 18x10.5 ET38 Forged EC-7Rs on track on their Supras at the moment. We don't have any full sets of the SM-10s on track or running around right now as they have yet to arrive. This Group Buy is for the very first production run so we don't have any 4 wheel sets for you to look at before the Group Buy ends, unfortunately.

Late to the party for the group buy - when will SM 10s be available for general purchase?

Tom, Really digging the SM 10 in a 18x10 square setup for my Supra. I plan on daily driving the car to and from work and the spirited drive around town, with a SCCA autox event once a month. Is it possible to run a 295 tire all the way around on these cars? I am on stock suspension right now, but interested in what it would take to fit the 295 up front.

The wheels themselves will be arriving in late June or early to mid July, but we have a pre-sale live on our website now if you missed the Group Buy. Those wheels can be viewed and pre-ordered on our website: https://www.apexraceparts.com/shop-by-vehicle/toyota/gr-supra.html?apex_wheel_model=,164

The sale will be live until the end of June at which point they will be back at MSRP.

Our 18x10 ET30 square setup is an excellent option for a driver looking for a rotatable fitment with fantastic tire choices. These wheels are a bit too narrow for a 295 section tire though. A 10 inch wide wheel suits 275 and 285 section tires quite well but a 295 will lack sidewall support on the narrower wheel and the tire sidewalls will tend to bulge out over the lip of the wheel. We have not tested a 295 section tire on these wheels yet as they were really built with the 275s and 285s in mind.

Our 18x10.5 ET38 Forged EC-7Rs wheels are the perfect width to support wider 295/30-18 or 295/35-18 tires front and rear and were specifically designed to be run as a square fitment. The higher offset allows for more ideal rear fitment with wider tires and is well suited to cars running aftermarket coilovers with improved inner clearance up front or spacers with the OE suspension alongside additional negative camber. The wider EC-7Rs are also ideal for 275 section R compound and slick tires that run wide if autocross becomes more serious:

275/35-18 Hoosier R7s on our 18x10.5 ET38 EC-7Rs.

Lastly, if you are looking to maximize tire width overall, and fully support the sidewalls of those wide tires, I would recommend our 18x11 ET40 SM-10 wheels front and rear. This is our most aggressive square fitment and is ideal for supporting 295 section and wider 305 and 315 tires. These wide wheels require coilovers with better clearance than the OE suspension specifically for the clearance around the front shocks and struts:

SM-10 18x11" ET40 with 295/35-18 Yokohama A052 with Megan Coilovers

Significant negative camber is required up front for fender clearance and recommended in general for aggressive setups to improve cornering grip and reduce excessive tire wear when on track. This fitment is quite aggressive and likely overkill for your current needs, but you could potentially choose to run our staggered fitment with the 18x10 ET30s in the front and the 18x11 ET40s in the rear for a while before upgrading to coilovers and the square 18x11 ET40s at the same time. This would allow you to purchase 2 18x11 ET40s in the future instead of 4 right now with an immediate suspension upgrade.

Some pictures of the SM-10 in Satin Bronze, 19x8.5/11. This is lowered on H&R springs, using stock tires, which I think fit nicely.
