I currently have 30% tint, front and back windows, but it's just not quite as dark as I’d like it. Considering a switch to 15%, which is the next darkest shade at my shop, but my primary concern is how it might impact night visibility.

If you have 15% tint, I'd like to hear your experience. How did it affect driving at night driving? I also don’t necessarily like the idea of having to roll down the windows at night. Looking to hear some of your experiences to help me make a decision.

For context, I’m in California.

I had 15% and had to remove it. I felt like I was rolling my windows down alot. But again that's my experience. Some people here have darker and are completely okay.

Imho, 15% at night is okay, as long as you’re on a semi-well lit road. In dark areas/roads it gets a little questionable, but otherwise I find it acceptable.

Mine has 5% installed. The only time I find myself rolling the windows down is in my neighborhood late at night when turning on two different streets. Everything else is fine. All depends on your personal preference. I don’t like slack jawed booger-pickers staring at me.

I have had 10-15% on all my vehicles for 20 years. Have the tickets to prove it(VA)
I am used to it. BUT, you better make sure no one is coming or no bicyclists are coming at night when turning. I don't have to roll windows down when backing as much because of back up cameras. However, back in the day it was just part of my habit.

It is a hazard when turning through town and or neighborhoods even in day. Again, habit of leaning forward and looking right and left through windshield.

All of my vehicles are 70% windshield and either 15 or 20% on everything else. The only time I feel the need to roll my windows down is when im backing into my garage at night, otherwise no issues.

Like alot of people have said. Neighborhood is really the main concern. Tough to pick out pedestrians and bikes hidden by the pillar and night.

I opted for 35% on the rear and sides and 50% on the front windshield. A clean look without being fully blacked out.

Maybe tint the full front windshield and see if it makes the sides and rear seem darker for you?

Like most said, unfamiliar neighborhoods (and potholes) at night might be pesky but otherwise not bad at all. I run 20% on all my cars.

I have 60% on the windshield, 15% on doors and back glass.
It’s perfect. Been doing it on all my vehicles for years. No issues with night visibility for me.

You live in California you’re just begging for trouble with the police doing that in a car like this. But anyway you have better visibility if your tint is ceramic than a regular carbon tint

I had 15% front 2 / 5% rear 2 + hatch on my Golf R and had to remove it, too dark at night and I was struggling to see pedestrians. I have 20% on the front windows (not the windshield though, that's crazy town stuff) and the hatch is 5% on the Supra, and I think that's great
