I feel the same. Generally they drop up to 80% of the camo before a debut, so it may not actually be production in Oct.

The engine sound is very similar to the TTV6 from the new LS500, I think.

It is difficult to hear well with tire noise and other traffic.

I am so hoping for the Lexus v6TT that perhaps I am hearing things

Comparing the starter noise/startup time to a M240i, they sound very similar? Perhaps that's pulling at straws, but I've found that the startup noise is often pretty distinctive to particular drivetrains.

it sounds like a B58 because it is a B58, just with some different engineering


the V6TT is a brand new flagship Lexus motor, let alone the fact that Lexus does not share powertrains with Toyota, and that the two divisions are historically at odds with each other on the management front.

Umm you do know that the Toyota Mark X and the Lexus IS350 share power trains? As well as the Toyota Crown Athlete Hybrid (s210) and the Lexus IS300h hybrid and Lexus GS300h hybrid.

These are current gen examples but theres been other shared motors in the past too (2JZGE, 1UZ, etc)

Also not to mention that some cars across both divisions share entire chassis including suspension and braking components across the two.

Bit hard to say that they don't share at all. Plenty of cross overs particularly in the JDM market.
