I've noticed when I set the heater temp to 84 degrees, it's blowing hot air, but when setting the temp between 80-83 degrees, the air is lukewarm to almost slightly cool air. I've checked the coolant level and looks be to fine, I topped off the coolant couple weeks ago and don't see any leaks. Is this normal?

It's a BMW thing and has been for a long time. Totally normal for them and probably therefore for the Supra as well.

You can think of numbers less than 84 as being actual temperatures. But 84 isn't really a temperature, it's just maximum, and it goes full bore.

It really should run up to 83 and then say "MAX".

Sustained, sure. But for the first couple of minutes on a very cold day, I want that setting as high as possible to warm up the vent as well as the air in the interior of the car. Location may be a factor (MN, here). Personality too - I may live in the cold but hate being cold.

instead of manually changing the temperatures when you drive, put it in auto, set the temp, and adjust the fan speed setting to the max. it will blow hard when the car is up to temp then automatically slow down when it's good.

This.

What some of you guys and gals may forget, is that underneath it all, it is a BMW, which is German. And the Germans seem to have this attitude that they know best, and so the car knows best, and you should just leave it all up to the car and enjoy the ride.

So, seriously, just set it to the temperature that you want it to be, and the car will decide how best to obtain that temperature for you. As @kern noted, you can adjust the fan speed a bit and the computer will vary the speed within that parameter and heat up - or cool - the car as it sees fit for your comfort.

The Supra is Austrian, but... same same.

Assembled in Austria, true, but designed and engineered in Germany. By Germans, probably. Germians? LOL

I believe there was a setting I changed in the radio screen that helped. There’s a climate option and u just move it to warmer and u get hotter air sooner without having to go to 84

Nope. Designed and engineered by Japanese and manufactured in Austria at Magna Steyr.
Yes, the body is all Toyota, but underneath it is 98% BMW.
