Probably Toyota will just import the BMW components to Japan, while also adding up their own secret recipes, and assemble the production version Supra in their home country. Earlier prototypes could have been built in Austria or Germany.:hmm:

Besides, I haven’t heard officially from Magna Steyr that they’ll be building the Supra.

Pretty sure Toyota themselves have said the car will be build in Austria at magna styer.
Pretty sure your right about the “regular” or base cars being built in Austria. I am going with my source on the “serialized” cars in Japan. Just hope they are not for racing purpose only....time will tell right?

This car will be expensive enough without shipping all of the components to another continent for assembly.

The only cars being made outside of Magna are the GRMN, which will be prepared in Motomachi.

They could however assemble them in EU facilities as well, but a few of them already went to Japan as I understand it (likely prototypes).

My source was correct....again. Thank you for confirming.

If the remaining info I have received is true, we will see a true successor!

After looking at the GRMN 86, I`m afraid the "true succesor" could remain Japan-only, built in very limited numbers, and sold around 150k USD.

We (and Toyota) need the non-GRMN Supra to be great

Nowhere near that high thankfully, but Japan only is a possibility and I hope people take that seriously. Toyota USA for instance has a strong history of watering things down or not selling them at all, and that is their largest market (other markets many times follow suit).

Really depends on sales, which is why folks hoping the standard car fails aren't doing any favors whatsoever.

I wish that was the case, but as I have mentioned in the past....the introduction cars are not the ones “we” are all waiting for. All MKV’s will be great cars, but nothing like the “alpha” cars.

The top tier “alpha” cars will be nothing short of amazing (at least what I believe based on the info I have). Anyone who thinks they will not be real successors to the MKIV is in for a surprise.

Assuming it will be 50/50, 30,000 Supras a year is a lot! How many do they expect to sell in each market?
