2021 ECU and tune

Well I rolled the dice and bought a 2021 Supra from Carvana and it has a 7/2/20 ECU date on it. I love the car/color ect. Is this really not tuneable or can I do something with it? I love the car it is a blast to drive and only has 4000 miles on it. I am down to 24 hours left to determine whether to keep or send it back and get a 2020 model. I pondered the Lexus RC F as well but never even sat in one and I have fallen in pure joy for the Supra!

You can tune it, it just costs more to have it unlocked and you have to send the ECU overseas to do so. Not a big deal, according the many folks on here that have done it. I think getting rid of the car if it was a good deal, you like the spec, and it is low miles would be short-sighted just because of the unlocking challenge.

Rcf would be a downgrade.

If you're hard pressed on getting it tuned via bm3/mhd then go for the 2020. Unless you want to dish out 2g on femto unlock on the 21.

You're asking a couple of questions at the same time here.

2021 vs. 2020 and 2 ports vs. 6 ports.

The 2020 and 2021 cars are all capable of making the same amount of power. All of the fast/high-powered 2020s have swapped 6-port heads.

This was a huge help for an answer and its what I figured. The 6 port head flows better which makes sense.
