Max stans are a weird bunch
Yeah us "stans" are weird, because we like a racecar driver, and not a crying, whining, kneeling turd that can only win in a car a second faster than the rest  and if he doesn't, starts making up ghost stories about improved engines.

bunch of excuses were expected anyway. ;) it's like reading lawyer's menu. you will get a steak but not exactly the steak due to the condition of 1, 2, 3, ... & 99. plus there is addendum you may need to consider... :D It is always good to cover the ass but when you cover it too much, some forgets to cover the front. ;)

In any case, I hope Hamilton wins. ;)

So facts are excuses? Sounds just like the typical Hamilton fanboy base without a clue of F1.

Lewis extends his contract for 2 years... looks like Bottas' seat is safe
Be nice for Lewis. He can watch Max win his first 3 titles first hand.

I wouldn't be so sure about Valtteri's seat, unless he gets signed by the end of Silverstone. They might have been waiting to sign Valtteri to see if Lewis was going to continue his time at Mercedes. If he isn't signed by then, I would say Russell has a good chance of getting picked up if Valterri doesn't perform better.

Personally, I think Mercedes would be missing a golden opportunity to sign Russell. It would give him 2 years to be mentored by Lewis while at the same time, providing Mercedes with 2 years to develop a new number 1 driver. Then when Lewis leaves they will have just the one seat to worry about filling.

I completely agree. Personally, I think Russell should already be in that seat.

They never minded keeping Bottas because he was fast enough in the superior Mercedes to score more than enough points to win the constructors title, and not quite fast enough to pressure Lewis, so it kept the peace unlike with Rosberg. But now they actually have competition, that changes things. They need a faster 2nd driver, and not a doormat. So Russell could very well be in.

LANDO FUCKING NORRIS!!!

What a lap. P2 man, great qualy.

Mercs were nowhere. Great effort from Sergio as well.

Feel bad for Alonso, Vettel was an idiot there at the end of the lap.

Ferrari took a risk and it didn't work out for them, but I suspect they will have the race pace to make it back up the grid.

Well.. "Hamilton is slow" is not a fact. Although I don't have compassion for max, I do acknowledge he is fast. different styles of driving to benefit different circuit so one to conclusively say one is slow is not fact, it's just an opinion. What I've been observing over the years are Max fanboys / Hamilton haters always complain about how Merc has better cars, Ham won't win if he is in same car as other competitors, FIA is always on his side, & ETC. type of complaints rather than how team (any) pulled together to win through the difficulties, or competition of position to get the last standing, or other hostile negativities toward other drivers or teams. It is occurring to other driver/team supporters but this is pronounce for Max supporters.

Hamilton is one of (only one of many drivers ;)) favorite drivers because he did not come from pedigree of racing family nor he had money to "buy" in the seat. he had to prove himself that he is a good racer. I remember story about how his father helped him through early days - I'm sure his father did not know how to race nor driving faster - and when he was asked for a Christmas present between PS steering wheel or helmet - they didn't have enough money for both - he chose helmet. I think he put enormous amount of effort to be at his position. To say "He is slow" is very disrespectful in my opinion.

with above, I'm done /w that discussion and moving onto races and championship as well as trying to make this prediction challenge interesting and fun. ;)

I never said Hamilton is slow. I said in equal machinery he's nothing special. And that's again being proven today. Hamilton has had everything paid for by Ron Dennis and McLaren from 12 years old, given a top team car the second he stepped into F1, when he got to Mercedes he got a car developed by Ross Brawn and Michael Schumacher, and subsequently had a car for 7 years nobody could beat. And now that it can be matched in performance, he's exactly what the "haters" said all these years. Nothing special. In 7 years he only had to beat one guy, in the same car, and half the time that guy was told to move over. The difference between Max and Lewis is, Max doesn't care who sits next to him, he will race him, and beat him. Lewis wants a doormat next to him, so he can cruise to victory without competition.

Not Special? compare to who? This is a relative term. I think Max is as special as Hamilton as Schumacher as Nicky Lauder & ETC. If you compare amongst all top drivers, on their level, nothing special, of course. but compare to you or me as a racer? they are so special that even comparing is an insult to them. So to saying it he is not special bluntly without reference does not state fact.
