It won't. The official photo used with the press release shows the car stock. They're keeping the TRD japan parts exclusive to its market (they are also slowly fading out the TRD brand there too to exclusively use only GR branded parts going forward)

TRD isn't going anywhere. I dont have the time to explain at length again, but they also have different aims despite the overlap that concerns some.

But that doesn't mean they aren't being reorganized somewhat.

Sorry, to clarify, I mean TRD japan is being phased out. TRD USA will still remain here in the US market alongside GR, but keep in mind that the two are completely separate entities from one another. That’s why the TRD parts catalog in japan is completely different and significantly expanded over what’s available in the US and is why it’s very unlikely that the TRD parts for the JDM Supra will see the light of day here. None of the JDM parts for the 86 were ever released here to my knowledge (although there were similar designed parts in the US, they were still different than in Japan)

actually, the 86 is an example of where it’s being phased out as the parts catalog is now updated to be GR sports parts instead of TRD japan

I was speaking in a broad manner. TRD Japan certainly doesn't carry favor like GR for a multitude of reasons, the main having to do with Akio, but trust me they aren't being phased out anywhere.

It's just a different strategy depending on market, that's why you don't see the Japanese parts coming over. Many times it's as simple as only Japanese buyers are willing to spend the money on crazy high quality parts.

Also, Lexus F is really none other than TRD Japan. The race teams are also TRD Japan. Gazoo parts are also made in part by you guessed it, TRD Japan.

I don't blame anyone for being confused though, as they do overlap and certain things will be renamed (GR Sport parts for instance) and reorganized as said. The two will continue to co-exist for now however...

Hm good to know then. Thanks for the info! Yeah I know it’s part of their strategy to keep trd japan produced parts to be on the exclusive side hence the astronomical prices. Unfortunately I’m one of those crazies that always does oem plus builds so I have the full aero kit incoming for my car lol

    Can hardly contain myself. :^)

I remember when I bought my first sports car, no my second and then they changed the body some etc., I was always glad I bought the first year, it just had more of the "look" as they tried to improve, but ultimately, IMO, failed. 10 Years later, people would stop me and ask, what car is that? 1990 Mitsubishi AWD turbo. And good for the snow! lol

A91 edition eh? I know it's 10 minutes away from a reveal but that sounds more promising than I intended it to be. Looks like the 382hp version is coming as well.

Says A91 is limited to 1000 total. Also has a new carbon spoiler
Wonder if the bump in power is wheel or crank cuz then maybe its pretty much the same tune

It's the same engine that's in the Z4 according to my contact on that side (nothing new as far as what we have heard on here)

Also appears they opted to not do the matte black. I replied to this post a little while back in regards to that and one of the TMS guys hit me up and said they decided to just go with Nocturnal. I think that was the right decision, but I think they could have done a slight variation of the color with gold flake or something.

    More power
GR Supra's 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine gets a significant power bump for 2021. Responsive as ever, this updated engine is rated at an impressive 382 horsepower and 368 lb.-ft. of torque.
