OK IM new here and to BMW/Toyotas. (My Main stay at 60 years old have always been carbureted SBC lol) I am trying to figure out which B58 I have. MY2025, I can see that it has the 6 port exhaust manifold, The intake is incased in plastic and not a bare cooler. are there any other obvious exterior indicators on engine model? I'm thinking it has a 1st gen B58. and not a B58TU/TU2. I haven't been able to get a look at the numbers on front of block due to my own ignorance of exact spot and stuff in the way. Old and half blind to lol. any help would be cool thank you.

You have the 6 port b58 gen 2.
Thank you, didn't realize the Gen2/TU could be a 6 port. I thought they where all integrated to the head 2 port. So I assume no port fuel injection? I was hoping for the port fuel injection for 2 reasons, 1 carbon buildup on valves and 2 future mods/power. What do folks think of Burger tuning? looking at JB4, Port fuel kit, CAI. Who makes a good down pipe? Dream some day of perhaps putting in an s58. Ah dreams!

You should be fine.

As far as power, if locked ecu, go custom jb4 route. But definitely worth it to get it unlocked. All dps are same. Catless are cheaper than catted. Catless will throw CEL unless it's armytrix/kenji iirc that have a cel eliminator.

Since you have a 25, and want a s58 engine. why didn't you go the m2 route? Pricing wise.

Not a Corvette.

In the USA, the Gen2/TU was 2 port for only 2020 in the Supra. 21+ are 6 port. In the EU, they are all 2 ports still. No port injection on either.

Carbon buildup isn't really an issue with the B58's.

TY for all the Info, Wife doesn't like the BMW styling compared to the supra and she wanted something super small no back seat (just me and her these days and a 15lb lap dog who rides in back.) Her last car was a 2015 Scat pack Challenger. we have final gotten to that point in life we can do what we want, and this is what she wanted. This is a daily driver lol. Thanks again for all the info.
