I swapped out my charge pipe with an FTP but I found a lot of oil in there!
On my twin turbo 300zx there was a lot of oil due to BOVs and the blowby but I was not expecting this on this car with only 2500 miles. Is this normal or is there a deal failing?

It is the stock tune, no other engine mods.

Replaced my intake at 800 miles and had about the same amount of oil. Think that's normal.

Well then we need a catch can stat... because we are all burning that and its contaminated oil so eventually that is going to lead to a lot of problems

It's probably blowby from that water "oil" they put in to raise the average MPG's to keep the EPA happy. I know mine will go to a heavier weight right after the break in, or sooner.

In the USA the B58 gets 0w20, in the rest of the world it gets 5w30.

So mine is getting 5w30. Maybe the day I take it home.

Maybe we can just cap off the inlet into the charge pipe and route that little house to a catch can that vents out of the system completely? If heavier oil is used, can you pull the charge pipe and see if it actually fixes the issue?

Mishimoto has been working on a catch can for quite a while. Apparently the system is far too complex to simply splice a can into a PCV line.

I normally vent turbo cars to the atmosphere below the car. I think the perfect weight for this car would be 0w30 or 0w40 if running it hard at the track. I just like the first weight to be as thin as possible for good circulation to the turbo and etc upon cold start. The second weight is for when the oil is warm.

I have the same issue. I'm thinking of getting a catch can for benefit of it. The oil inside your charge pipe doesn't look bad at all or maybe the pipe is black and i couldn't notice it. I have the FTP charge pipe, switched to bladerunner intercooler tube and switched back to FTP charge pipe to feel the difference. When i took off my bladerunner i noticed alot of oil inside.

I used to get this with my 1990 Mitsubishi AWD turbo. Nice little car, got up and went and was a lot of fun but my intake valves caked up. Top end went out so I had the entire engine replaced.

I wonder if some occasional SeaFoam would help?? The Sea Foam that you spray into the throttle body.

I would think a 5-30 would help.

this is why aftermarket meth or port injection is a good idea. otherwise we have to get them cleaned every 30k miles
