I did a quick search, and while plenty of A91 spoiler threads failed to find exactly what I was looking for...any help would be greatly appreciated. First does anyone know if the A91s that did get shipped with the spoiler were factory mounted or dealer mounted options? I asked my sales guy and he didn’t know for sure, waiting for follow up..Secondly reason I ask, is where this spoiler is mounted - you can see where the bolts torque the steel to the bottom of the spoiler causing two very small waves in the sheet steel. It’s driving me nuts...anyone with the spoiler option notice this or did I get a poorly installed spoiler? So looking across the top of the hatch/trunk - right next to the spoiler the sheet steel is wavy. Any input greatly appreciated thanks-

The spoilers were mounted in the port if they came installed when you bought the car.
I actually installed my own so I know the procedure. If your deck lid is damaged or wavy as you said then they over torqued it.

Thanks for the info..Do you recall if it’s just sheet metal where the bolts are pushed through or if there are any sort of braces there? Just trying to weigh my chances of the steel relaxing back to its original shape if I try to figure out how to remove this trim and take a half turn off the nut or so. I dread the thought of trying to get it “fixed”. Thanks again.

Yeah it's paper thin. When I drilled the holes I was amazed how easy the bit went through. I don't know if it'll pop back once you loosen the nut but it can't hurt to try.

Thanks once again, did a quick search for removing that trim and only found a few thread starters with no answers. I imagine not many have had a reason to pull that trim..does it just pop off? I didn’t see anything super obvious and didn’t want to just start prying on s***. Guessing you start at top and work around to bottom? Hopefully last question ;) - do appreciate the quick responses.

I am now curious to see what the hell this is :) any pictures of the affected area?
I assumed that spoiler was 3m'ed like aftermarket. Curious to see where bolt locations are.

It has a couple bolts pushed through the lid.. Most people wouldn’t notice, but I’m extremely detail oriented when it comes to bodywork/paint/finish so I can’t unsee it. I’ll post the best pic I could get that shows where the damage is, but can’t really see black lines well in a photo. It basically looks like someone is pushing there finger up from the bottom of the steel or something like that. In the photo you can see where the reflections bend...In person it’s a bit more obvious.

I was under the impression that the rear hatch lid was actually a plastic composite and not steel. Not sure where I read that, but I would imagine if it's actually a composite, it would have a better chance of regaining it's original shape if the stress were relieved.

Ahh..a quick search found this. I’d think it would return to form if this is true. I’ll know more once I figure out how to get this trim removed, headed back today.

That's not from the bolts. That's a warped lid. I'd get that back to the dealer and replaced.

I’ll get in and relieve the bolts and see where I stand. If it doesn’t help, I’ll certainly be paying the dealer a visit. Would rather not have to mess with someone handling glass, aftermarket mismatched paint, and a large part that bumps and damages the rest of a limited edition car if I can help it.

Yeah I hear ya. I hope it'll pop back but that's far from the bolts so I'm not sure.
