Accidentally cut green brake pad sensor while changing pads

While changing pads cut green sensor wire on rear passenger.

This was a few months ago. Pads were changed
I just left the green wire hanging and everything was fine
Today, I drove in the rain and got a brake light with warning about pads needing changing.

Guessing that water is shorting the contacts on the green wire?

Super easy. If you can see where the wire broke in the wheel well, there is a box that protects the connector from the elements. Open that box and you'll find where the end of the brake sensor connects to. As for replacing it on the brake pad, remove the pad and stick it on how it was currently. Mine broke because the one I got was long and the little clamping spots did not reach properly. I've been driving with that warning for months now lol.

You can also strip the wires back and tie them together, shrink seal them and reset the light. Good to go. I did this on my car since I actually maintain my car and look over brake pad wear.
