*Steering Wheel*
Just installed my aftermarket steering wheel last night

I had a custom wheel made by BeithPerformancePants after purchasing an OEM replacement core and replacement parts myself.
Added the Autotecknic Competition Carbon paddle shifters which were really easy to swap thanks to SpeedIndustryā€™s video showing wheel removal and paddle swap.

I had both the lower trim of the wheel and the switch bezel done in carbon. The switch bezel will go on soon but I donā€™t know if Iā€™ll use the lower trim. If I do I will accent it with some gloss black vinyl. Not too big on the full carbon.

Because of that I took the lower trim piece from the wheel that came out of my car during removal and added the Rexpeed carbon insert to it.

Very happy with the final product! Being 6ā€™3ā€ the additional space for my legs does help.

*Seat*
Last week I fitted up my Sparco racing seat. Combining the Sparco HD side mounts and the P2uned slider rail kit.
The model seat is the Evo 2 US as Iā€™m a taller guy so needed a wider seat which the US version is.
Currently using the Cusco harness bar with the Sparco harnesses. But might switch to the Studio RSR 4 Point Rollcage they have.

Did not want to cut the car to mount eyebolts for harnesses to the body so we bored out a hole from the side mount and mounted the eyebolt there with grade 10 nuts and the Sparco eyebolts included with their harnesses.
For those asking, based on photos I email to Sonoma Raceway. Techs say this will pass race tech and not have problems. Although any thinner of a side mount might result in not passing tech

Would changing the steering wheel void any kind of warranty? Also would insurance be a pain if say I got into an accident and the bag didnt go off because I reinstalled it incorrectly?

I never had issues taking my 2013 Honda Accord in after a replacement wheel. Did the same thing, installed a replacement OEM wheel. Since this is a factory Toyota OEM wheel modified on the outer portion you hold onto but the inner portion is left completely OEM, Iā€™d assume the same.
If you put on a quick release and a different company with no airbag like Nardi or NRG yeah 100% void. But replacing with a factory part ordered from the dealership should be fine.
Iā€™m not going to guarantee that 100% because I havenā€™t taken it in since putting that on but based on past experience it wonā€™t void anything.

If the airbag doesnt deploy in a major accident, insurance and warranty would be the last thing on my mind.

As for warranty, it's a type of warranty claim you hope to never have to file. If you do, I don't see it going in your favor since the steering wheel has been modified.

As for insurance, they won't care unless it's damaged/stolen. Then it's a matter of how you can get compensated for it.

That steering wheel looks great! Where were you able to pick it up? The OEM wheel is so boring and kinda thin for a sport's car, so looking to change it out as one of the first upgrades. Thanks!

Was it hard to remove the radio control from the trim piece?

PHOTOS of seat setup and installed
Door closes normally with a few mm between the shoulder corner of the seat and the door panel.

Owh man, your seats look absolutely killa. Was the installation pretty straight forward and how did you overcome the airbag light if any. I am keen to get a pair of seats but the overriding the airbag lights is whats holding me back.

I installed the RSR cage and love it but lost 5-6 inches of leg room. Did you have this problem with the sparco seat.

Are those aluminum seat mounts? I would not use that for eye bolts for your harness. Plus I doubt that would pass tech nor save you in a wreck.
