Hi Guys.
Help needed.
I'm in Australia on vacation at the moment and won't be back till March, a friend of mine is looking after the Supra whilst I'm here, he's just sent me a message, this is it in full......
"Supra alarm problem
A couple of days ago the car alarm went off for no reason. Silenced it with the key fob and thought nothing of it.
A few hours later, went off again.
No car thieves were obvious and key fob silenced it.
Sadly, same thing again but only 30 minutes later this time.
Got me worried because by now 10pm . Not long after , alarm again. This time couldnt shut it off!
Looked on the Toyota and Supra sites and they suggested low battery commonist cause!
Sure enough, put charger on and battrry at 0%
Alarm still going so decided to see if the engine would start for quick charge which it did fortunately.
Ran the engine for 20 mins then fob worked to cut alarm. Continued with the external charger for 3 hours and battery full.
Only problem then was that the alarm was permanently off and couldn’t be initiated.
Supra site again which advised reset by removing -ve battery terminal for 1 minute - tried this but no joy.
So the current situation is that the car is locked and has steering lock but no alarm.
Looked for further ‘cures’ but reluctant to try cos can cause cpu problems.
Thought I’d better let you know and wondered if you had any bright ideas
