Close apps you don't use during drive. Turn off background refresh on seldom used background enabled apps.. uninstall stuff you don't use. Get a newer/faster phone...

I have the 13 pro max. It’s just while using music apps. It take a few seconds to change songs. Just different I can from a civic type r and it was instant but it was also wired. That may just be it wireless vs wired.

Totally not what I assumed by lagging... I've 3 wireless connected cars with CarPlay and Android Auto. They "lag" when switching songs on YT Music, Pandora, Spotify... Can't recall XM.

iPhone 14 Pro here 
When I play any podcast, the 30 sec fast forward or 15 sec rewind button/function is delayed (about 3-5 seconds). It doesn’t do that in my wife’s GTI or my MX5.
I’m finally used to it just being bitchy.
And…. the passenger window rolls ½ down sometimes when trying to roll it up. If I hold the button all the way up for 5 seconds, she behaves for a few more roll downs. I think BMWs can just be moody at times
