No idea. I think it’s a personal choice. There is a good video on YT explaining why a 20” rim and tire fit is better from an engineering point of view. I like I get more road contact than before. I don’t feel like I am sliding around as much as the OEM setup.
the only reason why I don’t prefer the 20” wheel is Bc of tire choices. The wheels look great in 20” tho.
I just prefer a more beefy tire.
I do agree the stock tires should of came wider than 255 and 275.

You could go a higher aspect ratio and increase the tire height, but the sidewalls will flex more in the corners.

Can you link this video because the engineer part of me really wants to understand this. The contact patch which would be the road contact aspect should be related to tire width which wouldn’t change based on diameter necessarily but on width of the wheel. The sidewall change would improve cornering as you ran a smaller sidewall because the flex would change but I’d be curious to watch the video and see if he explains something different.
thank you!
20’s no doubt give that show car flare but I don’t see an engineering or design advantage. You can achieve equal performance with 18’s or 19’s.

Agreed. Harder to find the really grippy performance tires and drag radials in 20", there are alot more choice in 19"

Depends, good comment, but depends. Stiffer side walls will corner better and more ground surface area contact is always better.

more ground contact can be achieved with wider 19” wheels and tires…..

Got my Forgestar CFV5s on today. 20”, 305 in rear and 275 on front. Love the stance at stock height. The rears are so wide. Anyone else got new shoes lately?

Love the look, wish I could run 20’s. Too many potholes, road debris and uneven surfaces.

Wow nice, first Supra I'm seeing on 20s with Forgestars, looks great. Did you have to wait a while for them?

That looks awesome, perfect stance. What mini mud flap things did you use?
