OBDLink CX does everything you could need. $80 on Amazon or $76.50 on eBay currently.

I have a couple of the OBDlinks. I have the MX version. They are awesome and work on all of my cars. I use them for check engine light codes, data for overlay on the videos I get during track days and autocross, as well as bimmercode. The only thing I found that they have not worked Is flashing transmission tunes. Those need specific adapters that don't really do anything else all that well, in my opinion.

I found a MHD black adapter for cheap and use it for BimmerCode (I'm not tuned on MHD). It's great because it runs over wifi instead of Bluetooth, waaaayyy faster to program and read codes.

Before that I was using an OBDLink MX+.
