I actually started out tracking an NSX. You probably know Wei-Shin and Mark H. I first met them over 20 years ago before Mark and Maria were part of Chin. NSX got too expensive so I ended up with a track prepped Cayman with a Vision Motorsports 3.8 motor. Great car and fast with superb hading but lost the motor because of failure of oil cooler (oil cooler is water-oil and internal seal had blown hydrolocking the engine - everyone including dealer said that a little condensation was "normal". NOT true). Sold the car and got a phenomenal deal on my GT3. Best car ever on the track! Stopped tracking it when the cars were selling for more than 200K - Just could not stomach the idea of totaling the car on the track and last quote for insurance was 5K for 2 day event. Ended up buying the Supra for best bang for the buck and my boys were pushing for the car.
Totally different vehicle dynamics since most of my experience had been mid engine or rear engine. I personally still prefer mid-engine or rear engine but that being said, the Supra is extremely well balanced and easy to drive once you get over the transition.
My boys will be tracking the Supra. Awaiting delivery on a Radical SR10. Fortunately, I have an entire family who enjoys motorsports as much as me.
