2020 GR Supra Absolute Zero Premium
I bought my Absolute Zero 2020 Toyota Supra 3.0 Premium (w/ DAP) brand new back in August of 2020 from Doenges Toyota just outside Tulsa, Oklahoma. I drove it home to Dallas, Texas that evening. Love at first drive? Absolutely.

Fast forward 5 years and just under 18000 miles, I feel like it maybe time to move on. Not for a lack of enthusiasm, but this is by far the longest I’ve ever kept a car. My goal was at least 3 years, so my heartstrings were definitely pulled for keeping it this long. By then, I had paid off the loan and received the clean title - what a nice feeling that was too!

Working from home and having a garage helped to keep the miles low and the paint fresh as it has only been hand washed…always. Yes, it still smells like new too! Definitely a garage queen. I’ve only had water bottles in the cupholders. No smoking, no pets, no food…ever! Since it has only seen rain like 8 to 10 times, if that, the wipers are still the same ones that came with the car! It has, however, seen light flurries one night during a weekend trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas but it all melted by the time I started up later that morning.

As to commemorate the 5 year anniversary, I decided to go with a little change: A full color change PPF wrap in Pearl Green! I only found out after ordering the wrap that the A80 15th anniversary edition color was also a pearl green. How cool!

The PPF has a full 5 year warranty along with another 5 year warranty ceramic coating!

Now, for the condition….

All the body panels are original with no dents, scratches or repairs! There was minor paint correction done prior to the full frontal PPF which was done a couple weeks after picking it up. Thankfully I wasn’t too worried as it came with the factory PPF, so that was a relief but definitely needed to change to a full hood, bumper, headlights, A-pillars and side mirrors coverage by Xpel. Also had the Xpel window tint done at the same shop at the same time.

Luckily, I’ve never had any issues except for the battery occasionally running low. Once I replaced it with a lithium battery from PowerTex along with a CTEK lithium tender for those times I went without driving for more than a few days, all was good. I’ve also been lucky to never have experienced a CEL or any leaks of any kind. With every mod, I’ve always checked for codes. Mostly just sensors that tripped and cleared themselves after a short drive. Oh, and both key fobs are fully functional.

Maintenance…

I’ve always performed my own with the exception of tire/wheel balancing/mounting and alignment. I only brought it in to the dealership once for the brake recall a few years ago. The brake-in oil change was done at 1200 miles on 11/2020 then LiquiMoly TT6600 0W20. The oil changes from then on were done every November at approximately 4000 mile intervals with LiquiMoly Special Tec 5W30. The cabin filter was replaced twice - once at 5000 miles and another at 14000. I perform the oil measurement function every week, especially since I’m on the original plastic oil pump - measures to 100% every time with no issues. Differential fluid was changed at 16500 miles on 3/2025 with Motul Gear 300 75W90. I needlessly also replaced the OEM spark plugs at 13000 miles on 4/2025 with the NGK 96206 along with the Dinan red ignition coils. Lastly the brake fluid was flushed at 9000 miles on 6/2023 with Motul RBF600.

While I was blessed with a fully unlocked ECU (DME date 10/24/19), I’ve only flashed it with MHD. Since I bought and installed an Active Autowerke catted downpipe and only used 93 octane, I stuck with stage 2. However, I also added the XHP TCU flash (also stage 2), the AWE Resonated Touring cat-back, an AFE Momentum cold air intake with the Pro Dry S filter and the Wagner Tuning intake manifold along with modifying the OEM engine cover to fit.

Since pricing is very subjective especially with modifications, I want to hear some suggestions. I’ve seen 2020 models with prices between $46K and $56K depending on mods, condition and mileage. With that being said, I wanted to ask the group what your thoughts are on pricing. Asking? Selling? Starting? Bottom?

In closing, I’d like to thank @FLtrackdays @razorlab @zrk @FuzzyRev @Supra93 @Dannyvandelft @puzzled @Andrew4Supra @Loco38SUP @BMWAF @Rocksandblues @XtremeMaC to name a few and anyone else I forgot to mention for their knowledge, insight, recommendations and contributions during the last 5 years. I couldn’t have done this without you!

Beautiful Christian! Gonna miss ya dude 😢

The car is beautiful 😍. We all know it’s hard to get what we put into mods unless finding that special someone that is doing the same things we are. Wish you the best!!

That being said, what are you thinking about moving on to? I was thinking, track wise, a Z06 would quickly fit the bill for me. It doesn’t have near the limited production ours does but wouldn’t take much for me to get it up to speed, on track.

No idea on what you should sell it for...just all those pictures has me feeling the need to spend some money. That green wrap and the red seats...definitely on the "eventually" list. Your car looks fantastic.

Also interested to hear what you're thinking of moving to. For me, I don't see myself moving on until its something a true level up like a porsche or lightly used mcclaren so more on the 10 year+ plan.

Any chance you kept your OEM mirror glass and would be willing to sell them?

Thank you so much, Mark! Oh, I'll still be around. Keeping up and looking forward to the MK6 as well as the Celica!

Yeah, I might just put it up here in the sales section and on some of the Facebook groups hoping to find someone who's the right fit. I'd hate to dump it on Autotrader, Cars.com and Cargurus only to have a bunch of dealers calling with lowball offers.

I've really been itching for mid-engine, yes, but the Z06 is a bit out of my reach since my budget's top end is $85K.

The Z06 is a phenomenal car, but for me personally, I don't see a reason for the $50K over a C8 Z51 for my use. I see the Stingray as a Vette for the street while the Z06 is a Vette for the track. Especially since I've been very happy with my "mere" MHD stage 2 93 octane tune on my Supra. I really don't want nor need more.

Thank you so much!

I definitely want to dab into the mid-engine segment. Always wanted to. Been doing a bit of research and Turo driving with a used R8, NA1 NSX and a Z51 C8. I think eventually I'll be back to the MK6 or Celica when they're (hopefully) released in 3-4 years.

With that being said, while I do love the B58, I don't think I'd do any of the new M cars. They're great but they just don't do it for me visually.

what kind of mount setup do you have for your phone?
It's the Peak Design car mount with a 12" usb-c cable:

https://www.peakdesign.com/products/car-mount

It's held on by 3M tape so there's no vibration at all and can be removed without any damage or residue to the panel.

I've tried lots of different mounts but I don't like it any higher than the air vents nor any mounts that block any of the air vents. Plus I didn't want to mount it on the passenger side of the center console.

This area is great! I can quickly glance down at it and the facial recognition unlocks it. And it doesn't doesn't block access to the shifter - it can be easily switched through gears and slapped to the left for manual driving even with the phone on the charger.

Beautiful car, my 2020 had a lot done to it and since I worked from home garage car in perfect condition except a couple chips up on the bumper that’s hardly noticeable. so while not as clean as yours comparable. As I’m sure you are aware, when selling a car like ours you have to find that buyer that makes it “worth it” some one that wants the car to be “finished” like you/me had it. I was going to post mine up for 55k with a bottom line of 50k. I ended up trading in for 45k and getting 4400 tax credit and it was close enough for me. I didn’t need to worry about waiting for a buyer, checks to clear waiting for title any of that. So for me at the time it was worth it. I do regret not taking off the exhaust and swapping it since it was the SP1X full 4” from turbo back. I could’ve sold that for 2500 easy. So I’d suggest around the same 55k and wouldn’t go under 50k and I don’t see why you couldn’t get that with how clean your car is. New owner picked it up from Mercedes where I traded it in at for 52k if I recall right.

Thank you! And that's exactly what I figured as well.

If I was settled on a trade, I'd probably do a partial part-out, if that makes sense. I do still have the OEM springs, manifold and cat-back along with some smaller items, but I don't see a reason to swap stuff now especially if I go with a private buyer."

Curious to know what you traded yours in for?
