So I bought the car 12/2/22 so just over 3 months ago (Which if you know me is like 3 car years). When I bought it I was like just gonna drive not gonna do anything just tint the windows and enjoy It. I made it to week 1 of ownership and the JB4 got installed... Yea I’m on Oak I tell ya. Then after JB4 and the first test ride the rest of my “I’m not gonna mod it” idea went right out the window…. Fast forward 3 months later and…:
Performance stuff:
Mod 1 JB4 with all the goodies
Then there was this sale see on the Injen intake and Charge pipe for like $300 so I said that is a great deal you should take advantage of it, and I did.
Then a bunch of my other so called “Friends” had the AFE exhaust which sounded great so yea AFE Exhaust with the blue tips
Then I was like I’m not running any e-blend crap I’m not mixing…. Yea so I’m running E30 and Map 5 now
Then I read the which downpipe for no CEL thread here (had the AA catted on it) and I thought I don’t need that. Of course I have the Kanji Garage catless DP on it.
Then there was a video where they put on the inlet tube and I thought “why didn’t I think of that”. So Dinan Carbon Fiber turbo inlet.
There was another thread on what brake pads to get (the dust is sooo bad) so followed the Amazon links and new pads installed. So much better everyone should do that on day 1 or 2.
Oh and you have to have springs and spacers if you’re doing all the rest. So Whiteline springs (highly recommend) and Burger Motorsports spacers.
Hmmm there is a common theme of “I read that thread on SupraMKV” and now I got xxxx
Appearance Stuff:
In the middle of all that mess I could not decide on what wheels, I didn’t need wheels, the stock ones are fine but… there is this picture thread on the forum of all the wheels and that just started this whole got a set of custom rims, then Powder coat the stock ones white, then powder coat the ones I just bought in gloss black vs silver oooohh and that thread on here about the sale of the Matte Stock Wheels which I of course had to order. I mean it was a great deal. Add in some Michelin 305 rears and 275 fronts for good measure!
I read another thread to find out @NitroYellowMKV takes downpipes and ended up bartering for a new wing and some rear spats. HUGE shoutout to @NitroYellowMKV what a cool dude to work with and just a good guy all together can’t say enough nice things and now we chat all the time. If you need steering wheels, EOS stuff just holler at him and he will hook you up!
Well I had the wing now and rear spats and it would look silly to not get the matching carbon fiber side sills and front chin so he hooked me up with those as well. EOS messed up my sills though and sent me some for the BMW (to be fair the part numbers are very very close) but in true form they are shipping me new sills asap. So shout out to Extreme Online Store and @NitroYellowMKV
Also (since I’m this deep already) ordered the A91 stripes.
Next up is a trip to CES Motorsports up in NC for bench unlock and MHD E50 tune!
So yea you F***ers have cost me a small fortune… but I say that in the most loving way possible of course! Here are a few pics from today, i realized trying to photograph gloss black wheels is next level impossible! Truly thank you guys for all the awesome and extremely expensive yet helpful information here on the forums Because it’s looking fantastic (IMHO).
