Does time being held up before PDI could be completed because of missing parts count? If so I'm 1 week, but not had to go back for anything else, yet...

Yeah, the “body ECU” might be the same part and is what is holding up my fix. They can’t pull the firmware off the old one and install the image onto the new module. Sounds like a huge oversight or possibly a bug QA missed during the scantool dev process. My car has been in the shop since September 5. The car wouldn't go through PDI process completely. After several attempts by FTS, long wait on a Body Domain Controller, and inability to fix it, it's in the process of "repurchase", i.e. it's now a lemon.
The whole thing is nothing but a giant mess filled with disappointment and blatant insults from Toyota Customer Care.
Nope, I don't want another, I'm done. The replacement BDC made it worse and the car was dead with it (hatch wouldn't open, engine wouldn't start, etc.). This is just a car and not a space shuttle, it's scary that they don't know how to fix it.Yeah, the “body ECU” might be the same part and is what is holding up my fix. I’m in process for a replacement. You’re doing buyback? I take it you don’t want a Supra anymore?
No, it’s a body ECU - an ECU that controls the lights and other body elements. The main ECU for remapping is flashable as evidenced by many modified cars...Well if they can’t do anything with the ECU, tuners should be ecstatic as they may have warranty for awhile.
Sorry to hear about your experience though.
I understand it is flashable. What I was hinting at was that if they can’t talk to one ECU, they may not be able to talk to any of them. If they can’t see what your ECU has to say, they can’t see what has been done to the ECU.No, it’s a body ECU - an ECU that controls the lights and other body elements. Yeah, I guess what I’m saying is that it would be quite an unexpected scenario if the tuners could access it but Toyota could not.I understand it is flashable. well at least you got a free rental for 7 weeks....and counting. Did you pay a dealer markup when you bought the car? I wonder how that would work out if you did pay a markupGot my letter from Toyota saying they’re buying my car back. Will be in 7 weeks tomorrow.
