Howdy all. First post and a sad one.

Like a scene in a poorly written film, I was rear-ended at a stoplight literally as I was driving home from the dealership with my brand new 2022 Supra (2.0).

Not too much damage, fortunately: the bumper has some slight cracks and stress marks and is clearly a little dislocated.

Other guy's insurance (BMW drivers, amirite? Oh, wait.) will pay, but I'm unsure where to take it. Here I am in my midlife crisis car and this is my first real road accident ever. The model's still relatively new and pretty rare. I'm sure they'll all say they know what they're doing, but do they?

So I was hoping for any advice or experiences people have had - recommendations for Supra-knowledgeable shops, particularly in the Culver CIty/Baldwin Hills/Inglewood vicinity, but any Los Angeles area recommendations welcome.

Or am I being a nervous Nellie, and any greasemonkey can hotglue a new bumper on?

Man, that sucks. Though I would say, most body shops should be able to do a pretty good job. Do you have photos of the damage? If it's just a bumper, the only interesting thing in there is the proximity sensors.

We had our BMW X1 fixed here and they did an impressive job repairing it. Our rear bumper, wheel, and part of the quarter panel got swiped from a hit and run driver.

Ah man sorry to hear that :( You could also ask the dealership where you got it at who they use for repairs. A lot of dealerships have a specific shop they use for damage they OR customers may do on the lots/during transport etc. It will be a shop that uses good oem paint/quality work most likely. Good luck!

If you need an OEM rear diffuser (black part), I am replacing mine and would sell you it for low.

~ new ones go for around $250 via toyota. it’s a bargain for a pre-painted factory part.
