God it’s been a minute since I’ve updated my build thread because LITERALLY NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. my poor car has been sitting at the dealership for a month waiting for the freaking Vanos Central Bolt. The dealer is replacing it under warranty along with the exhaust side cam gear in order to combat the 13070 CEL for clamped exhaust shaft. The bolt was supposed to arrive a week ago, was back ordered until yesterday and now pushed all the way to April. I could seriously scan the bolt and recreate in solidworks and then send it for a one off bolt to be made faster than getting one. On a positive note the dealership service department has been FANTASTIC! I’ve had a loaner Camry this whole time which means I can put the cheapest (loosely used term) gas in it and not premium and I’m keeping mileage of the Supra.
i miss my freaking car though. But my pup loves having a back seat. Also at least my carhas Been indoors the entire time also.

Got off my ass today and installed the OG thicwhips badges. Ironically these are off his actual car when he parted it out prior to selling.
during install I changed one thing Pretty much every instructional video mentions on the front needing to stop off the tabs in order to get the plastic backing plate off. However I found you can separate the front Toyota emblem from the backing plate and this way you don’t have to snap off the pins. The new badge is applied to the plastic backing plate the exact same way that it is from the factory. For me this is nice since there is little to no height change from emblem to emblem and I didn’t have to snap the tabs.
long term will see if there’s a difference mounting it to the plastic plate of the bumper but they’re both plastic and new 3M tape should work the same regardless.

Hello beautiful, got my DME unlocked finally and uploaded the stage 1 MHD map and I’ll put the stage 2 on once I get my CTS downpipe installed on again.

Got to test and tune tonight. First pass of the season on the mickeys and tune MHD stage 2 was a 11.9 with a 1.8 60ft.
second pass was against a C7Z, cut down to a 1.7 60ft and he beat me by .002. Overall 4 passes and 3 were in the 11s. Very happy but need to work on the 60 and shoot for a 1.5 or so and see if I can get a mid 11.

She’s arrived!!!! I’m not even unwrapping the exhaust all the way because of course the car got sent out for R&D work stuff on Thursday but I did unpack the tail end section and she’s a work of art. Cannot WAIT to get this installed.!!!! Whole system as the track edition weighs 9.5lbs in total. Serious weight savings over the oem exhaust.
It may have been a 5.5 month weight but god dam it’s worth it!

Sadly my Supra got snagged for R&D so I’m rolling around in an m340i and I decided fuck it I’ll throw the welds on haha. Suffice to say the Supra welds “fit” but they’re rubbing the inner fender liner and have almost no brake clearance haha. Still cool to look at though lmao.

Since its been a FAT minute since Ive updated my build thread I figured I would throw this in there. This is a tease of the intake that will be releasing shortly. Should be both a matte Carbon and Gloss carbon option and the induction noises are absolutely lovely. This is my design so its pretty cool to see. I have marked over the branding until it is officially released and we have production.
I still am waiting on my car to come back from R&D but heres a teaser. CFM testing has shown this full intake on the 2.0 is flowing 100 CFM over stock and I am waiting to get flowbench results for the 3.0

Still waiting on some production samples for my car so it’s still at our sister location. In the mean time I picked up a new temporary daily that is significantly better than the Sentra I was using 😂. Gave her a wash today. I will say the Mediterranean blue gets an excessive amount of attention and reminds me a lot of downshift.

I love the look of matte carbon... but I had my matte finish scratched one time and decided to switch back to gloss. It's so much easier to fix a gloss finish.

After dealing with that, I couldn't imagine having matte/satin paint on a car. That would be a nightmare.

I can’t say I’ve ever seen a scratch on matte carbon before but I can definitely see how it would be way more noticeable
