Seriously though, BMW has kind of watered down the meaning of ///M by slapping M badges on pretty much everything they make now.

You're not wrong. I recently purchased a 2023 M550i which isn't a full blown M-model, but I actually prefer it over the M5 as a more livable driver while still having a good deal of HP & TQ stock.

Yeah, those are really nice cars. My cousin just recently got one. He felt that the M5 was overkill and he didn't really need all that performance.

Yeah, every BMW here in Australia has a little ///M on the side panel and on the wheels, pretty much irrespective of what model it is.

I guess making the average punter feel special results in more money being made than making the actual ///M buyers feel this way.
