Hello, I’m having this startup issue that started about a month ago. When the car hasn’t run after half a day to a day it startups in this way were it stutters before fully starting. The car runs with no codes and just fine after that. Is this something I should be worried about and diagnose at a shop or let it be. Seen people with similar symptoms but haven’t gotten a conclusive answer yet. Thank you

Could be either the battery or the starter motor. I had a similar issue at 23k miles and the dealer was able to diagnose it as a starter issue and replaced it under warranty.

I had the battery changed and it happened with the old one and still happens with the new one.

Probably the starter motor then. My car had that hesitation starting up for a few weeks until one day I got an error code and I finally brought it in to the dealer.

Why would it only happen on cold starts tho. I thought it might be more fuel system related, like a pressure leak of some sort.

Might be a leaking fuel injector. Run a tank of injector cleaner through it.

That’s what I thought too but how will injector cleaner help with leak tho?
When the engine is shutdown it traps HP fuel between the closed injector and the pump/hp regulator. If an injector leaks then it will allow fuel into one cylinder and cause an over rich mixture in that cylinder and possible short stutter on start up. Only happens after a decently long period of shut down hence my theroy. Might be just a slight leak so normal running and fast restarts might not create the affect.

I posted something like before, and the consensus was it sounded pretty normal. Yours sounds pretty normal to me.

My Supra sits a lot of the time for 1 to 2 weeks, since it's only my fun weekend / nice weather car, but she always starts up right away.

That first little sputter in the video is imo not normal.
