I was going aftermarket for one. Looking at the Viofo A119 V3.Is anyone getting the Toyota dashcam they have or after market? If so which brands/models are the best out there?
More details on your 4 channel setup? Where are you mounting the side cameras? Also what battery packs did you go with and how much did everything run you?
I just bought 2 pair of the BlackVue DR900S-2CH for a 4 Channel Setup, including 2 battery packs and a wifi hotspot. Bought them yesterday and will receive them tomorrow.
I also want one of this mounts for the front because its stealthier than the included ones.
Thanks, yalpeR - that video is actually one of the reviews that I'd watched and why I'm not completely sold on the BlackVue (due to the quality reportedly being lower at night). I also would be interested in hearing about your 4-channel setup, where you've mounted stuff, and how it looks. Do you have the primary "big" cameras (the ones that usually go on the front windshield) pointing out the front and back and then the "smaller" cameras (that would normally point out the back windshield) looking out the sides of the car? I'm trying to have a nice dash cam but without it being too much in the way.
And good to hear that the Thinkware has also been okay, qmantran. Have you found the alerts/notifications (it sounds like it's kind of an all or nothing thing with the Thinkware) to be a problem?
Oh wow - thanks for that, Goose. I'm surprised at how clear it is even at night.
The bundle I was looking at picking up appears to come with the hardwiring/battery kit: https://www.amazon.com/Pittasoft-Blackvue-DR900S-2CH-Hardwire-2-Channel/dp/B07BWSG2NP
Just wondering, but what happens when the external battery runs out? Does the camera (including the motion/impact detection) just turn off? Although I'd like it to stay on when I take the car out and leave it in a parking lot while I go shopping, am at work, etc., I just want to make sure that this thing won't drain the car's battery if it's left sitting at home for several days and then the car battery be dead when I return to the car.
Sorry for the back-to-back posts - I mean to ask this in my previous post above but forgot: BlendMount has like 50 different mounts. Do you all know which one is the right one for the Supra's rear-view mirror (will any of them work)?
