When you look at how the much the grid actually depends on fossil fuels, you realize how much EV’s only increase further demand on the fuels they are supposedly trying to avoid.

https://www.visualcapitalist.com/how-does-u-s-electricity-generation-change-over-one-week/

It’s currently only $35 a month here to charge your Tesla. But all this is incentivized (tax dollars). Can we really afford to keep forcing this issue? #HybridsUntilHydrogen

Edit: BTW, some states and countries are trying to ban natural gas. Where will they get the energy to fuel all these vehicles? (see link above) I think these are questions worth asking w/out getting upset or emotional.

Umm.. sure.. why not but why not generate electricity using Hydrogen? If it's so great, why are we not doing this wholesale? ?‍♂

Great question brother! It’s not politically popular = no money to be made by lobbyist or companies… yet. If they really cared about the issues, this would be exactly where the push would be. Like Toyota. Hedge your bets.

Did you see how much fossil fuels (natural gas, coal, etc.) we use on that link above? It’s not something you can just replace overnight. That‘s the question to be asked. How are we going to substitute these? Before we go into mass production of products that are so dependent on these means.

Just questions that need to be asked. No bashing EVs.

Even Europe is a whopping 36% dependent on fossil fuel:

https://www.visualcapitalist.com/mapped-europes-biggest-sources-of-electricity-by-country/

So even if we glue ourselves to a Van Gogh painting or lay down on a coal mine production line, some thought needs to go into what are we going to use instead. Do we freeze and cut down trees? Do we let elderly die with rolling blackouts with no climate control in hot areas? Not being pragmatic, just looking for real solutions like everyone else. And hoping maybe, just maybe, some of the stigma goes away to ask more questions.

Nikola really doesn't have a good track record as a company so far but this does track with much of the rest of the trucking industry's plans for now.

Trouble is that all the legacy rig manufacturers are already ahead of them on this.

The cost to charge is getting closer to owning a hybrid. And will likely only go up as more people get on the bandwagon.

https://www.motortrend.com/features/how-much-does-it-cost-to-charge-a-tesla/

The Model 3 performance is looking pretty attractive while government incentives remain. You have to keep the price under $55k. Which isn’t bad for an EV.

Kudos to this magazine/author for even bringing the subject up. It’s the kind of questions people really want to know.

I trust whatever a Toyota engineer has to say over our political hacks.

That is all.

Affordable EVs? The future is here:

https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a44288618/we-dont-need-every-cheap-ev-ok

And then there is Ferrari: "I don't want to be arrogant and impose a choice on our client" says CEO Benedetto Vigna

https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a44473626/ferrari-boss-says-no-to-ev-only/

Are we really smart enough to figure out what‘s best for us ? Do we still need higher brain power - insert Gavin and Greta - to decide?
