Defective Toyota Emblem Badge

Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of raising a warranty claim through my local dealer at Guildford, Surrey, UK.

The issue I have is that the front Toyota emblem badge has started to break down and the chrome effect paint is peeling.

Anyone else had this issue here in blighty, or elsewhere?

Mine looked like that for sure. Never thought to go to the dealer with it, just replaced it with aftermarket.

Do you know how quickly yours started to deteriorate? My cars only 4 months old.

I did think about aftermarket, but I feel they should have to replace it, even if I do later decide to swap it for an aftermarket emblem. That will then be my choice entirely.

Man.. 4 months sounds right. Maybe 6?

My rear just went a few weeks ago. Looked just like that. Made it over 2 years, surprisingly. Front is still OK for now. Dealership had the part in stock. Pretty common issue evidently.

There's a post somewhere. Early MY20's even came kindda like that and cracked.
Did you try just talking and showing this to the dealership?
FYI, i think they're $35 or something...

I've called and raised it as a warranty issue. I sent them some pictures today too at their request. I'll have to wait and see what they say about replacing it.

I had the same issue. Dealer replaced it along with the cf mirror covers which started to peel.
