First time at the track with the Supra last night. Completely stock car. Ran a couple of times but the wait each time was an hour+ due to so many cars. Frankly, I was disappointed. Maybe I’m spoiled coming from SRT Dodge products with raw grunt. The car hooked shockingly well (great track prep) and pulled hard but turned in a lame 13.1 and 13.2 time. It felt fast, but really wasn’t IMO. 60ft was 2.0 both times which seems decent. 1/8 was 8.4. Ran it in Sport mode of course, traction off which seemed great. Car and Driver notes this car should do 12.3 all day long stock - thus the disappointment in my 13’s. The DA was 2500 so that didn’t help, but jeez...throw me a bone. The fun part was seeing at least 4 other Mark V Supras there...2 of them running consistently 10.6 times - highly modified.. I don’t want to throw a lot of money at this car and be like others on this forum that start out threads “I did X to my car and now it won’t Y” etc. Plus I trade cars every couple years. It does feel fast on the street and my track days are rare; so I’m just got to enjoy it as is.. maybe toss a JB4 on it for a little bit more power.

60’ is weak which affected your ET. What was your MPH?

A DA of 2500 is only costing you about 2-3 10ths.

105 on the mph. Car left the line great but almost felt like it was bogging on 2nd run because the traction was so good. On the street obviously it lights the tires up and traction control kicks in a bit. At the track it hooked and just went. Need to play with maybe spooling it up a bit before launch. There are definitely a lot of variables, but I was still expecting at least a 12.7 or 8. How are these cars for heat soak? My Dodge Charger was always done after 2 runs and would lose 3-4 tenths to heat soak.

yeah thats a solid 4-5mph off pace on trap speed, so it wasnt making power.

my guess is you were pulling timing from sitting?

wow, your trap speed is way way off. You were either spinning down the track or heatsoaked very bad.

A stock car should be trapping almost 10mh more than that.

Im thinking it was way too heat soaked. After 2 runs it was done. I did go to the friday night drags at Wildhorse and the lines were huge that night with a stupid high DA. I’ll run it again in the fall when it’s cooler. Certainly didn’t feel like it was spinning, but it’s certainly possible. I saw 2 other white Supra running mid 10’s that night highly modified.
