101% Agree.

These cars ain't cheap and when I lay out that kinda cheddar I don't want the one that's slower and sucks in traffic LOL
I'd agree with you if I was a boy racer....but I'm not....so I don't. And manuals are fine in traffic. I've been daily driving a manual my entire life and have no issues in traffic or on open roads.

Personally, I'd never buy a car like this with a slushbox. But I'll admit that I do have a ZF 8-speed in my Jeep and it's just fine in that vehicle.

I didn't either... until there was an accident ahead on the ~6% grade highway hill climb on the way to my house back when I had my Z. After the 70-minute drive, one car length at a time, my left thigh was shaking like I'd done a decathlon. Had it taken much longer, I'd have had to pull over. Granted, if I'd still had the factory clutch, it wouldn't have been as bad.

IMO there's virtually no slush at all in the ZF (at least as tuned in the Supra). Honestly it feels a bit better to me than the DCT I had in the Cayman. That said, if the manual was available in 2020... then I'd have opted for it. I just wouldn't have 37K miles on it now, and would have driven the Lexus much more than I would like.

Traffic as in lots of other cars around, sure.

Dead stop UPHILL traffic because somebody YET AGAIN did something stupid 2 miles ahead, not really. No idea what kind of traffic jams you find yourself in on a regular basis, but they can SUCK OUT LOUD where I drive.

And maybe arriving at your destination feeling like you need a new clutch is cool with you, hey great. I'm speaking only for me.

And to be clear, I own a bunch of stick shift vehicles. I just don't enjoy them in those kinds of situations. Luckily there are plenty of awesome backroads around.

What color is on that Supra? May just be lighting or post-processing, but I'm not sure I've seen that before (stock). It's bangin'.

I've been stuck in all of traffic and never had a problem with it. Stop and go heading home from the Jersey Shore...no problem. It's not fun being stuck in traffic like that in any car, but a stick doesn't make it any worse for me. Today's hydraulic clutches make driving a stick super easy, even in traffic.

Maybe what you'd find great is a Tesla with Autopilot. Then you could sit there and let the car do everything for you. I guess that's cool too, but I don't see myself to wanting that until I get really old, then maybe that would be appealing.

Stock hydraulic clutches are super easy to drive. My Audi has an upgraded performance clutch (Southbend Stage II) and it's almost as easy to depress as the OEM clutch.

My old Mustang didn't have a hydraulic clutch at all and it required a lot more pedal pressure, but it was still fine but n stop and go traffic.

I've never owned an economy car, but if I did decide to get one and it's available in a manual transmission, then that's absolutely my choice. So much more fun than a slushbox automatic....

In the meantime, this is more my style. And yes, it has a clutch pedal. And just to prove no hate on the ZF8, there's my Jeep with a slushbox too. ;)

Anyone here still wants to pay 50k for this outdated pile?
Nope…

but for poor folks the base Z sounds a whole a lot better of a deal than the 2.0, especially if it’s just going to be a daily.

White Shadow - I dig those. My buddy has whatever the V8 one is, in matte blue.

One thing I appreciate about the Z is they give you probably the highest number of gauges of any modern car - lots of info available that the Supra really skimps out on. And what really grinds my gears is there is ROOM for more info on the Supra cluster :(
