I think if we never heard any of Max's radio conversations in race, his comments right after a race, etc, the view of him would be A LOT different. Danny was correct that off the track he seems like a genuine good guy.

For me, it comes from when his car isn't the fastest how he treats his rivals, how his emotions on track can lead to driving like a complete asshole, how even half a second longer in a pit stop means some snarky comments to the pit crew, never taking ownership in any on track incidence that he creates, how he treats his teammates on track as second class citizens that must bow to his greatness and are unworthy of ever being let by or given a place for their betterment.

Off the track, and off the grid and out of the media pens, he's likely a pretty solid dude to be around. Sure a bit quirky but aren't we all.
Are you talking about Max? Or Lewis? Or are you conveniently forgetting his meltdown last race?

Let's see how you'd comment when you're driving at 180MPH, brake and corner at 3-5G's, you're fighting with all your might, but then you get screwed by something that isn't your fault. Adrenaline surging through your body, and you're just going to talk calmly and rational? GTFOH.

Man I decided to see the unblocked content from DannyV and have to say he is still completely delusional on anything involving Max. He literally can do no wrong to that guy. I'll be glad when he is unseated this season by one of my McLaren boys taking his crown and this could be the end of his era if his teams can't get at least the second fastest car on the track.

I'm so glad that I blocked him so long ago, being exposed to his comments just makes a person want to kick a cat (yes that's a Max reference also, LOL).
I'm still waiting for the day when you actually slightly know what you're talking about, skidmark. Unlike Max, your McLaren boys wouldn't be anywhere without their fastest cars. And you better pray that the flexiwing TD (That's Techical Directive) won't help Max, because it'll be all over for "your" boys.

Yeah, I see it differently. I would be furious as well. It’s the only way he’s going to win this season and they are loosing it for him by doing stupid stuff. I’ve seen that team do way better. If I were Max, I honestly don’t blame him. They sold him on the expectation of being the best team out there and they need to live up to it. Like their dark goggles changing tires in the dark video. Hell, they can’t even get it right in full daylight now or their stupid release lights. He should be absolutely furious ?

I think driving on track takes that mentality, at that level. But again, that’s just me. I also love all these different dialogues & opinions! But… I gotta run ??‍♂ to work ?. Save some of the juicy ? stuff for me when I get back!!

It's NOT just you. It's anyone with common sense, and people that have ACTUALLY driven on a track competitively. Skidmark probably road rages being stuck behind a Corolla, but yet he thinks Max is out of line for his comments in an F1 car. Good thing Skiddy wasn't around in the 70's and 80's when guys like Hunt and Senna punched people on track ?

Yeah wasn't just referring this to season. The issue is the inability of Danny (and I guess your wife) of being able to admit that Max does anything wrong at any point on the track and that's so incredibly far from the truth.

I'm a McLaren fan, always have been, team first and drivers second. So I can criticize the McLaren boys and point to their mistakes. I get the impression that's rather common for most teams/drivers fans, outside a few. Max/RB fans seem to be the worst, but there are Ferrari fans that have this stance, and Lewis fans, etc. So I'm not trying to say that Danny (or your wife) or Max, is the only ones that have this view, it's something that you see from some fans.

It's the same in other sports. Lebron fans, Dallas Cowboy Fans, etc. It's a common thing in sports. But I view each of those fans the same, incapable of seeing the whole truth of the sport and the players in said sport. They will always have their rose colored glasses on and die on the hill of said fandom. I just block these people out and dismiss them as delusional.

This is hilarious coming from you of all people.
You can read through all the pages, when Max messes up, I'll point it out. I have before, and will again.
You blocking people just means you can't handle other people's opinions, and are too stupid to have a conversation.
The only one delusional here is you, skidmark.

I think some of you guys need to get real. In F1, almost all of them complain at the moment something goes wrong. Or they whine when something happens to them. They are all superb drivers, and yes, some are better than others, but how good the car is makes a HUGE difference. RB still has a good car, at least good for Max. But McLaren and Merc now have cars that are just about as good for both of their drivers.

Danny can be a prick, he’s Dutch after all. But I will say I’ve seen him criticize Max a couple times on here. People like who they like, they all “cry” on the radio, some just get played on air more than others. Anyone that doesn’t believe it, get F1 app pay for the subscription and watch a race with any driver. Albon is absolutely savage towards his team. Sianz wants his teammate to let him through every time he’s behind them. Lewis “cries” over tires every race, Max “cries” about handling every race when it’s not right. The broadcasts picks the snippets that help with the drama and headlines not the whole context.

Finally, because I like the guy, who is carrying Aston this year so far? Because it’s not grandpa, the guy to me that’s one of the most over rated drivers in F1 ever.

Seems like they're treating 2025 as a wash and hoping Newey pulls a miracle on the 2026 car. Their aero is so bad for a Mercedes powered car.

I just don't sugarcoat. It is a Dutch thing. It gets perceived as arrogance, but it's absolutely not. Most people outside Holland can't deal with it, (especially British Media) but that's just how we are.

this.

and I think anyone of us would be a jerk with the engineers and the crews if things are not being perfect. Is a high stress job. I’d be cursing all through the weekend.
