Hi Everyone,

I wanted to thank Dustin for his patience regarding this, as you may know we specialise in everything coding/performance wise for BMW’s and with the A90 sharing the same platform as the Z4M40i and the NBT EVO we knew at some stage they would enable these cars to have Fullscreen CarPlay.

Previously this wasn’t possible due to parameter restrictions, but after some testing and flashing an EVO of an A90 Supra to the latest I/Step I can confirm this is now supported and working.

All of those worried about having this done at a dealership as they will flash all ECU’s rest assured we can help here as we do not flash the DME and therefore it will remain mapped with the file on it currently and unlocked.

Anyone interested in having this done will need an OBD ENET Cable, working Windows 10 laptop and a battery stabiliser that supply’s 30/40A concurrent voltage (this stops ECU’s sleeping or going offline whilst being flashed)

if anyone wants this feel free to get in touch and drop us a message @definedcoding on socials or via email [email protected]

Also thanks to Rob at retrofitmybimmer for supplying the latest data and helping with some development tasks.

Why is it that asking for a little more screen space is like asking to add hover mode!!!??? I love the car, but sheesh.

What’s a car battery stabilizer? Is that the same thing as a charger?

Do you know one that can supply 30/40a concurrently?
Im looking online and the ones people use are Ike $600+

honestly, would wait to go to the dealer. I don’t want to brick my car by using a shitty/wrong battery stabilizer.

They aren’t the same. Regular chargers are not able to maintain good voltage on a battery while current is being pulled from it. While flashing the car, battery voltage cannot drop below 13v otherwise the flash will fail. The current draw from the ECUs during the process (which is done in diag mode -engine not running) draws current at a rate that most OTS chargers cannot keep up with.

or so I’m told ?

Yeah from my reading people use 13.6v. Do you know a charger that we can use to flash that isn’t like $600?

I’m sure this is an easy thing that everyone could do on their own. Every other idrive system can be updated on its own. Hopefully someone will share it with other owners. Not spending money on this kind of thing.
