Wind Buffeting is all you really need. Get a feel for the car. Go through the break-in period without modifications (but do wind buffeting, I like the Verus Engineering one, but they all work).
After break-in, push it hard for a while. Get used to it, get used to all the buttons, how it drives, it's quirks, etc.
Bimmercode and stuff is also a good pre-mod thing to have. There's a guide here. Read through it, and do the stuff that will make the car a little more enjoyable. (Mirror tilt, disable fake engine noise, etc).
