I bought my car 1 month before I met my now wife exactly 1 year ago and now she’s pregnant and my one bedroom apartment isn’t gonna cut it down the road. So I hate to do it but I’m gonna move off the car over the next year so that way I don’t rush into selling for less and feel stupid afterwards. I need some advice from the community.

What mods would you pull and which ones have you seen add value?

obviously the unlocked ECU has to stay in the car. But would you guys.

go back to stock exhaust and downpipe?
Currently on catted with SP1R
BM3 FlexFuel?
Carbon fiber skirts and lip?
After market wheels and tires?
Carbon fiber hood?
Carbon fiber fenders?
Wrap?

Best place to post for sale?

thanks for all the help in advance.

If it were up to me i'd peel the wrap and sell everything off of it except the spoiler and maybe the lip kit. theres a market for everything you put on there individually but harder all in one.

Also, congrats on your car, your wedding, and your expected baby. buying this car sure turned your life around LOL

Congratulations on your new wonderful journey with a family.
you should put a vote box up to see opinions to see who would buy your car in current form vs semi mod vs complete stock at a fair stock price. Call it fair stock at 55K. I love Supras have personality but generally I buy stock forms. There’s a lot of personality on your Supra.

So I started pulling the wrap just to make sure it went smoothly because its only been on like 4 months. So, I'm getting that fenders, hood, wrap, exhaust, wheels should all come off.

Yes, put it back to stock as much as possible and then see it. You will get more money that way.

I’m in Indiana and very interested in your SP1R if not already sold. I have stock exhaust and diffuser I can throw in with cash so you can revert back to stock. I sent a DM but feel free to hit me up on instagram @a90.Omen

Doesn't seem like you're in a rush. So:

  • Determine an asking price for it in modified form and list it for sale. If you get an offer at or above what you're willing to sell for, then you saved yourself the headache of returning to stock.
  • If you're not getting any bites at or above the price you're willing to sell for, then return it as close to stock as possible. Determine an asking price and list it for sale. Sell other parts off.
While I do believe that not being in a rush works to your advantage, I'd pay close attention to the market for used cars at the moment. It's not heading in a great direction. However, the Supra has a high likelihood of falling into the category of cars that aren't as affected.

Putting it back to stock will help a lot in terms of how quickly you sell, and what you'll get. As is, expect a 10-15% hit from a stock car. The closer to stock the better.

I ended up buying his SP1R and can vouch that he is great to work with. Super flexible, responsive, and no complaints through the whole process. If you’re looking to buy any of his parts, or his car, I am proof that he is in fact a real person and I highly recommend working with him.

On a side note… jesus christ the SP1R is LOUD and sounds AMAZING. 0 complaints other than some of the scratches :)

Get as close to stock as possible. Sell mods individually. And almost nothing can add value than what it is stock, of course there are exceptions.
For instance my s2000 was worth more stock than with the Mugen and Spoon parts that I sold for almost the value of the car.
