1st time driving with NASA at Sebring Oct 22 & 23. Any worthwhile tips that stand out from other HPDE? Pushups at 7AM, free beer between run groups, etc... I did see you have to wear long sleeve shirt and pants. That was about the only difference that stood out from Chin or PDG.

Don't expect Chin level driving. Expect trains and a huge deviation in skill levels.

I stopped even bothering going to NASA events. Waste of time.
This times 1000. Go because its free then go with one of the better groups (Chin or PDG)

You'll quickly feel like theres a club you aren't a part of, and you're causing everyone greif just by being there.

As for the track, the Supra does great on it. But you'll be lucky to get one good lap in without traffic.

Damn that sucks, I had a much more positive experience with them in the north east. No trains, very focused on predictable driving and getting out of the way properly.

Probably depends on the region. I tried NASA both in southern and northern California probably over fifteen years and it was enough to never try them again. There are so many other quality organizations that I don't see why I need to.

I found the BMW CCA days here in the North East gave me Deja Vu of my NASA experiences.

I did a couple days… 1 free on Toyota and an additional day for $99 at the Carolina Motor Sports Park in Kershaw, SC. I didn’t have any trains except on the first lap. The instruction was a little weak but there were some experienced NASA drivers leading the classes in exchange for free track time. After the 3rd session on the first day I was passing and getting after it pretty hard. In car instructor was great and gave me plenty of track pointers. The HPDE 1 is very limited but the HPDE 2 was even better. I guess it depends on what you want, a race day at the track or seeing how well your new Supra handles. I would definitely go. I’m going to Road ATL in December for HPDE 3. Should be some crazy speed in my 2022 A91 CF.

My Mazda MX5 and S2000 was set up by my old race shop that is now retired ?. I purchased this app to compare to my Harry’s LapTimer - see which one will link up the Supra OBD functionality without a lot of fuss ???. I’ve got a JB4 with Bluetooth. Both apps works with the XGPS160. No luck with with app locating the JB4 data. However, I also have a OBDLink CX. Hoping I might have some success with that.
Any suggestions or tips appreciated ✌?

I am not aware of how to link JB4 to a timer app.
I just use Harrys by itself or my transponder for TT

All the OBD2 adapters will log normal generic OBD2 items, unless you have one that can take custom PIDs.

Here are the generic OBD2 items:

Amazing knowledge base there @razorlab.... You got the killer setup 4sho!!!! I'll get there someday ? I'm hoping I can take the JB4 OBD2 port plug out and not lose my custom MAP 6 while driving??? I know Harry's laptimer can sync with the OBDLink plugged in. This newer (to me) TrackAddict app looks pretty robust and have multiple compatibility options as well. So, I'm looking forward to messing with that another day when I've got more time.

Got my 2nd alignment today from a local race shop. BMW just didn't have the knowledgebase to adjust superior aftermarket parts, lol. I'm only a few more SPL parts away from completely dialing her in :stirthepot:. Kinda glad to hear this won't be like running in the red or blue group with Chin. Looking forward to a mega chill weekend with her & feeling things out. And I'd rather get a few opinions from a couple of ole pro driver buddies (with them behind the wheel) after all the SPL goodies are in.

Appreciate all the feedback! I'm stoked to get this puppy on track :headbang:
