Headlight Cluster - Repurposing Missing Buttons?

In my previous car I placed a small push button onto the centre console connected by a wire soldered onto a spare garage remote fob. As Oz cars don't come with a door garage opener on the mirror, I thought I could use the Supra headlight cluster's missing button panels to accomplish this task - again, wired up to a garage door keyfob like I did last time.

I figured I could either drill a hole and add a push button to one of the locations in the image or better yet, maybe I could source the missing button piece(s) from a BMW cluster and retro fit them into the Supra cluster? Has anybody had any luck doing anything like this?

Can you not get Home Link supported BMW rearview mirror? There are aftermarket ones for sure... Or does Home Link not work in the southern hemisphere ?
Either way may need wiring....
Draw ACC on power from glove box empty fuse..

Not sure about Home Link - But I don't think we have that. I did consider buying a used US Supra mirror and fitting it but I think my idea is far simpler. Absolutely no wiring to the car at all!

Button on dash ----> wire ----> soldered to garage door keyfob circuit board hidden in dash.

Garage door keyfob batteries last ages so no need for regular access either.
