Yeah I get a bit of drone between like 1700-2200ish rpms, more so if the engine is under load. It's not awful though. It's the same regardless if I have the mufflers on or not.
even the stock exhaust has a drone in this range

Do you get any drone at all in normal mode between like 1.7k-2.4k rpms with the HKS?

I have the Magnaflow Xmod and I get a good amount of drone in that area, especially under load.
Under load it makes very little more noise than stock, but I wouldn't call it drone. Don't have to raise our voices to talk over it in the car and that's my girlfriend's gold standard of something being too loud or droning lol

I’m not sure because I added the downpipe and exhaust at the same time.
damn ok. would you say the car sounds mostly stock in Normal mode other then that 2k rpm area?

I have the HKS Super Turbo (single muffler one) part number HKS-31029-AT003 and AA catted downpipe. Normal mode it runs a little louder than stock and sport mode is deep tone and sound pretty good imo. No drones either. And the exhaust tips look good too.

Hey guys just found this thread and reviving it. I have the AA DO and just installed the Xmod - all mufflers with 3” inlet pipe. What inlet pipe did you go with. Trying to tone down the 2000 rpm drone/vibration.
Thanks.

I have an AA dp, 3.5” inlet, left side muffled right side straight. I think adding the muffler to the right side may help with drone. Haven’t tried it yet. I like the current setup now.

You know I’ve had my Magnaflow for a while now and forgot all about trying to straight pipe one side! After hearing this I’ll have to do it!

do you have an aftermarket dp? Could you post a sound clip of your setup?

I will be adding a 12” resonator on the 3” pipe after the DP to see if I can eliminate the resonance between 1500 and 2000 rpm. I’ll report back when done. It’ll be a tight fit but it looks like it might work.

Ok. I installed a 4” dia 1’ long 3” inlet on the 3” MF mid pipe. It’s a tight fit leaving only about 1/4 clearance between the heat shielding and the pipe. I say it reduces the drone between 1500 and 2000 rpm about 50% or so. Definitely reduces some of the annoyance. Quiets the overall sound just a tad, but noticed it also quieted start up a bit too.

here is a pick prior to the install back from the fabricator.
