Alright, so a few days ago I was washing my car and I noticed on the passenger side the hood and front bumper were not aligning. I never noticed this in the year of ownership, so I was wondering if my car got bumped or hit to cause the gap.

Upon inspecting the entire vehicle, there is not a single scratch/crack/tear/break/paint chip or anything in the general area or on the car overall. I am officially losing my mind. I checked under the wheel well, nothing is off or missing. Every bolt is tightened, and fastened securely. Now, when I look closer it clearly looks like the hood is just misaligned and needs to be "shifted" more towards the driver sided just a little to correct the issue, but what would have happened to cause this in the first place?

As the OP mentioned, I did check the hood latches and they are both even and don't seem to be the issue.

I am taking it to my trusted auto body tomorrow, just to have them inspect it and confirm it has no damage.

Any feedback or insight would be greatly appreciated. I included a picture of the driver side for reference as well.

Cheers,
-V

There are 2 screws/bolts on each side of the bumper. Loosen those and align accordingly....

**UPDATE**

Alright, so I took it to my trusted Auto-body guy and confirmed there is no damage at all.

The front bumper is flimsy on these cars, and somehow it just shifted and misaligned. I have NO idea how, but it happened.

So they just popped the hood and loosened the bolts/bracket fastening the bumper and just adjusted and re bolted everything securely. Appreciate the help XtremeMaC!

Problem solved! See pictures below.

Cheers,
-V

Rats, I just noticed mine has the exact problem of the hood not aligning properly. it is exactly like yours.
Any guide to how I can realign it myself?

In reality, it is no different than slamming your doors.
I personally don't slam my doors either. I just shut them. I cringe when people ride with me and then get out and "energetically" slam my doors. Some people seem to think they won't close if they don't take a big ass windup and really put their weight into it.

That being said, I have no issues closing my hood. A simple drop from about a foot or so latches it just fine.
