OR are the people who couldn't afford one in the first place and/or drive a TRD Camry.
Seriously, WTF with this?
I swear, I've heard two people make negative comments about my car, and both times the person ended up being a TRD Camry driver. Both times I said 'oh yeah, that's my Supra', and the conversation completely changed to curiosity. Until they knew the owner was in the room, it was just straight shit-talking.
Maybe it's because they bought the Camry to have the closest thing they could buy to the NASCAR vehicle, but it ended up being replaced by the Supra. ?

Wouldn't it be great to buy a TRD Camry and make it an 800hp sleeper though? Just troll people all day.

For sure, especially all of those ASSHOLES who bought that stupid new SUPRA!!!! ?

Seriously though, one of the race shops here in Charlotte had exactly that for sale a few years ago... Trust me, if it wasn't QUITE so expensive, I may have bought the thing! Not quite as much of a sleeper as I'd like, but that's easily remedied.

And, while we're on the subject, that place ALWAYS has some amazing cars to look at. If you're in the general area, and you've never been there, you're doing yourself a disservice.

Hah! They have a real NASCAR Camry for sale for $70k!

This. The Supra connects with kids in such an amazing way. Had a kid walk up to me once from a Chick fil a and ask to take pics because it was his dream car. Gives me hope to keep it for a long time and those kids will have some money saved up to buy it when they enter the workforce.
When they grow up there are only electric cars left :(

I’m really surprised how much this attention this car gets at track events. From MX5s, Porsches, Vetts, Ferrari folks, you name it, come around and ask me how I like the car, what I’ve done to it, etc. Guess it helps too that she keeps a good pace with them, lap after lap after lap :)

I'm in MN and there's only a handful of us. Cannot take the Supra out without every kid, their mom n also their dad checking it out taking pics and asking about it. Shocked as the Cars been around a couple years.
I did not expect a car at this price point to cause near lambo/ferrari levels of car boners.
where in MN are you? I’m in Otsego (west of cities).

Went to a car show other week. I showed up first decided to wipe the car down and get some shine going. Old man behind goes how you like the BMW.. I turned around like you fuccer but he was old old so I looked and he was getting out a Lexus is250.. so I go I haven't lost to a Lexus yet. His face goes straight then he goes how it drives. I go amazing surprised me everytime I start it. He looks in the window and goes oh a 2seater the seats dnt recline. I'm like bitch why would the seats need to lay back it a couple not a limo. He goes I need to go on long road trips. I just drove this back from Ohio think it held up pretty good got 35mpg,he goes that's it my car gets more then that. I said yeah but my car pulls more pussy. He smirked and said ok.

I live in a small town out in Missouri, every time I go to a store, I always get comments from cart pushers or older parents who talk about their kids who want cars like this.

When I lived in SoCal, I got little to no comments. Although when I used to own a '97 Supra, I would get tons of comments.

Surprisingly enough I've seen more Supra's on the road in Missouri than living in SoCal for 20 years.
