Need info; does car recognize’s new tpms sensor? Or do I have to bring it to
A Toyota dealer? I’ve posted this before, was told that once tire spins
For a few miles it will calibrate for new sensor, but was told otherwise from
Discount tire, who mounted tire/wheel
And sensor?

@zrk is right, if you have the right TPMS then the vehicle will auto recognize them. I recently installed new wheels and the vehicle’s infotainment popped up a message to confirm your new sensors.

I just got wider tires put on the stock rims, I had to force a calibration. It told me to drive until I hit 100% and the tire sensor notification went away.

Drspok, 100%? Of what?, of sensor calibrating? Does it show on dash
As it’s calibrating? Sorry for the ignorance, as this car, after I had recall
Reflash, is doing “Spooky “ things?

Go into Vehicle Settings on iDrive
- Select Vehicle Status
- Select Tires
- There's a reset option in there somewhere. It walks you through resetting the TMPSs

Dang seems space age now compared to when we had to buy a special handheld to sync them. Very cool and good to know!

Not a Corvette.
I go through this song and dance every track day so the car doesn't freak out when I start with cold pressures in the 20's.

Do you need to replace the TPMS when you get new wheels or can you reuse it?

Asking this here since wheels was the topic and I hear different stuff.

Basically was told if I take them off to powder or order new wheels, gotta replace it all... so I'm like is this true? :p

Not true, I’ve re-used them without problems on stock powder coated wheels. They might not fit some aftermarket wheels so its always best to test fit first.

Thank you both very much or answering my stupid question.

I'll make a note so I don't get scammed if I decide to powdercoat.

Sorry, just saw this, if you quoted me, I would’ve known you were talking to me. But I see you figured it out. All set now?
