Has anyone just plugged the inlet from the intake tube and put a filter on the the bottom end of crankcase breather hose like this? Thinking of just cutting the line and connecting it to another fuel line and putting a filter on it rather than replacing the whole line. Thoughts?

It should theoretically work, because the fitting contians a one-way check valve into the block. however your biggest challenge will be finding a breather that is small enough. The bare fitting is 1/4 inch barb fitting, if you're fine able to find a breather that size, let me me know

I didn’t even think of that. What if I just connected the 1/4 fuel line to a thicker 5/16 fuel line?

You sure its 1/4"? That seems tiny. I was going to guess 3/8" at the minimum but its been a while since I have looked at mine. Either way, if it really is 1/4", I can have filters made.

yes, that was the size i needed to make the replacement hose. 5/16 fuel hose did "kind of" fit but I wouldn't trust it to stay on without cranking down a worm clamp. let me snap a picture when i get home in a bit, i harvested a spare fitting awhile back.

smallest breather filter I could find online was 3/8 inch.
That is definitely 1/4". I'll get a batch of these filters in the works. The current ones I had made are about an inch in diameter and about an inch tall minus the clamp area which I think will be a good size.

They take about a month to make so expect to wait a bit. I'll make a post when they are done. Oh and just to add, these are going to be made in the US. No China garbage for me.
