So YMMV. This is for those using Apple Music.

One of the last things I had to do to make the Supra audio system sound decent after doing the hole punch mod was to go into Settings > Music > Toggle OFF Sound Check.

Apple Music streams higher quality than Spotify or YT Music. But for some reason Apple Music was consistently sounding awful compared to every other streaming platform.

Did some research and turns out this Sound Check option muddies Apple Music playback in CarPlay systems and it is not even specific to the Supra but many car stereos in general.

Anyway once I disabled Sound Check, Apple Music started sounding better.

Cool to know though.

Spotify, select lossless audio - for premium audio quality.

Finally went for a spin in the car. I don't know if it was placebo but the music did seem to sound better. I don't want to say this simple switch made the change, but meh.. who knows?

Just coming back (again) to say that after a few more drives, I'm pretty confident turning off the sound check setting has in fact improved the quality of the audio. The mid range is less muddy and the bass seems a bit tighter too. Coupled with the tadda mod, I'm happy to upgrade my opinion of the Supra's audio quality from acceptable to good.

@yo dude Doing the lord's work!
