About to order my obd2 and get into some of these codes. Watching some videos to get a better understanding.

Nonetheless this is pretty straight forward.

Has anyone had issues with 2023 models / previous 2019+

Any do’s & don’t would be great.

No issues with 2021+ just make sure when you're coding to turn off your data and carplay so the phones connection doesn't jump while its coding

I have trouble connecting with the MHD connector and can’t find anything that works with the BM3 connector. I suggest getting the cable

2023 MT. Used bimmercode with no issues. Some people have had wonky issues with Auto Stop-Start, but I just enabled memory and start in Sport - no problems.

I coded auto start\stop memory and that seems to still be an issue, I had no issues with coding starting the car in sport individual or reverse camera tilt 30%.

I wanted to disabled the iDrive startup message but I didnt have the option for headunit in Z4 or supra, Im using MX+, anyone else with a 23 not seeing headunit ?

'23 MT, OBDLink MX+ under the Z4 setting with no issues.

startup in sport mode
no eco start stop
removed infotainment screen startup warning messages
adjusted temperatures for seat heater
disabled seatbelt warning indicator and chime for driver, disabled chime for passenger
maybe more but these were the important ones

Do y'all reccomend the OBD link CX or MX?
MX+ looks like its a little more featre rich but not sure if those features matter?

I have both and find myself using the CX more. It's a lot more compact and reads/codes the various ECUs, especially the Body Domain Controller, way faster than my MX+. I'm talking minutes faster.

Other than that, there are not too many differences I've experienced. If you plan on doing your own full diagnostic troubleshooting, then the MX+ is the way to go. iirc the CX can only read data from the engine and transmission.

Been using it since Day 1 on my 23 A90 MT with no issues.

The only thing I would advise against (not sure if this applies in the US, or to all states) is don't try and code out the auto headlights as that threw a warning for me in iDrive.

Question with bimmercode. Does the module need to remain plugged in after settings are made or can it be removed?

Looking to get one but I use the OBD2 for my Banks iDash

It only needs to be plugged in for coding and then you can remove after your coding is completed. Hope this helps
