Again, why do you feel entitled to non-consumer level software? The fact that we even can get it legitimately and legally should be enough to not have to argue with people like you, but as this thread has proven…

Agree to disagree. I’m not interested in engaging with keyboard warriors anymore. Cheers.

I agree with you @dAPEX. ISTA is definitely required for certain repair procedures, such as bleeding the brakes when all four corners have been opened. You cannot reliably bleed the ABS pump without ISTA, and brakes will remain mushy.

This is just one example of how a subscription-backed tool locks away valuable repair capabilities. It's shitty. It's an erosion of our consumer rights. And I don't care if it's 50 cents or 500 dollars, I take issue with the very principle of it.

Nice cop-out but...
If I could redirect this conversation and ask more of your knowledge base... would ISTA updates include changes to the adjustable dampers of the Supra?

Would I be correct in thinking that updates to the Final Edition Supra in terms of suspension / dampers be a combination of hardware - changes to the shocks and maybe springs - but also the damper settings controlled electronically? The hairpin software, launch control etc?

Cars are so complex - I honestly don't know what is software and able to be updated and what is hardware and fixed.

Thank you :)

ISTA is all or none so what you are looking for is ESYS. You can program individual modules (ISTA you cannot) and platform to platform. It is what people use to update M cars to CS software, etc.

Thank you - this is very cool!

In my ideal world, I'd have the updated damper settings - Monroe CVSAe damper and its electronically-controlled bypass valve (yellow) from the Deep Dive is very interesting.
