This gives me anxiety. Probably in part because it hits close to home because my nicely organized garage tends to end up like this (on a much smaller scale) anytime I undertake a real project. I then finish the project and give it a few months before I get everything nicely organized again and tell myself next time I'll put things away as I go.

I have one I got from Home Depot, I think. It's been around for over 5yrs. No regrets. Anyway, I'm vouching for cheap tool boxes. They work great LOL.
My other was given to me by my dad. He bought it for his shop back in 1970 or '71. It's an oooooold Snap-On tool box. It was full of Snap-On SAE tools, which I foolishly sold off but now need because I own a classic too. I dig all the old stickers from his drag racing days.

I'm really just looking to the forum for ideas to replace the crappy toolbox I bought at a yard sale 22 years ago and have been too stubborn to get rid of.
