License Plate blocking the upper section to the heat exchanger. How bad is it really?

Has any1 done any real world testing / logging temps, to see if this is has any impact?
I found another 2021 I want to go pick up, but noticed the plate bracket is already mounted dead center, blocking the upper section.. As sensitive to temps as these cars are, I would think we want to get as much air flow thru that lil center section as possible..
I planned on using the tow hitch for the plate mount. Any thoughts on that? Where are you guys mounting your front plate?

Leaning towards the tow hitch myself but at least 4-6 weeks away from getting plates so no hurry

I've not measured a thing. I went with the Perrin mount tow hook as this was the best looking setup to me if not a bit expensive. The other options just look cheap and/or stupid IMO. The nice thing about this mount is the adjustability. I have it slid up as high as it can go so as to limit the blockage of the right vent and it also doesn't block the parking sensor. Not posting pictures since Perrin already has them on their site.

yes.
There's only 1 AZ 2021 3.0 prem for sale 200 miles from me, so trying to determine if this is actually something to be concerned about and would prevent me from picking it up. Its been like 115* + last few days.
I asked if they would replace the bumper , but no.

I did tests with a portion of the front centre section blocked by a small 3 digit license plate and the results on the circuit were very noticeable.

Oil temps, transmission temps, intake temps nd coolant temps were all substantially worse with the plate partially obscuring the centre intake ducts.

(1) is with plate
(2) is without plate

Excellent testing.
Much better than the QA guys do at my day job. LOL
Seeems quite clear that blocking the center is a no-no

Hmm, but for those of us that have to have a front plate we need to see these numbers with the plate covering the left/right vent too... Could you run those? Or tell us how to do it (I assume just an ODB2 connector needed?)

The plate is now located on the lhs vent area but if you look in there you'll see very little intake is used at the top, it's all down the bottom half.

Also that would only impact engine coolant there and not the rest. In the middle it is blocking nearly everything important, which is why that FT1 body kit is laughable, as it would give zero flow to three major components.

That's the right vent, don't cover that it's the radar sensor.

Left side only has the tow hook attachment.

I didn't notice any differences driving but your plates WILL scratch the upper lip from wind, I highly recommend buying a plate re-locator for the lest tow hook before you even purchase the car.
