Appreciate the responses! Last question, it’s completely okay to install in California correct? I saw this, but I’m not the smartest when it comes to car parts so just want to make sure.
  • EPA compliant for use on OBD2 vehicles (1996 and newer) except in California

I think your first smog will be 6-8 years away, but you may fail a visual. (There is no tailpipe test.)
Some owners of other vehicles have entire supercharger or turbo setups removed before smog testing is due. I'm done with that.
Another note: Typically, when you reduce backpressure by enlarging the exhaust, the torque curve peak moves to a higher rpm point. Some people go way overboard and make city driving more disappointing, due to the drop in low-speed torque. Your results may be very trivial, however.

Not a Corvette.

This is so not right at all.

Maybe in 1972 you would be right.

Can we please have people that don't know wtf they are talking about or just rehashing non-relevant crap from 30 years ago stop posting in advice threads?

Folks, I'd like to reintroduce Dr. Gregory House. He graduated from John Hopkins School of medicine, but since retiring has taken up modifying his Supra, insulting others, and essentially continuing his reign of terror that he loved so much during the "House" series. Welcome back Dr. House, for better or worse.

Congratulations you're a wanted criminal now. To be fully compliant in CA, you have to swap to a gender neutral Tesla. If you get stopped, just tell them your downpipe identifies as OEM.

Just a question with in the thread of questions, does down pipe without a tune lead to a possibility for boost creep? Or can the stock ecu tuning account for that extra increase in exhaust flow?

i have AWE touring and a modified catless downpipe that hooks up to the AWE 3.5 inch connection instead of the factory 3.15

definitely a pretty drastic increase in flow and i've been running this without a tune for the last 45-50,000 km's with no real issues other than occasionally if i do a WOT pull into 6th gear in cold weather it will throw a drivetrain error for overboost but it self clears with a key cycle. probably due to the huge flow increase and the dense air ( i'm talking 10C/50F and below) Air.

I'm thinking of running a cheap catted downpipe (200cpsi - is that 200 cel?) with a JB+ and an AWE non-resonated touring in the mix. Hoping to cash in on some DP deals while delaying full Femto for a year or two.

Appreciate any feedback from all on this plan of attack.
