How many miles or gallon(s) remain when the low fuel light comes on? I've yet to get the fuel indicator meter to the single bar so I haven't seen the low fuel light yet.
Mine flicks on at 50 miles

Surprised no one has given OP the technical reason why this isn't a wise idea or why the car does this to protect itself.

Low fuel creates possibility that the fuel pump sucks air. Sucking in air and sending it down the line causes engine to run very lean. The ECU, when seeing lean will ask for more gas right? But it gets more air instead. And lean goes to very lean goes to boom and a very expensive repair.

You'll read about this with daily drivers at the track when drivers get experienced enough to really turn hard. Fuel will slosh one side of gas tank, fuel pump sucks in air, engine grenades. Or a smart engine throws you into limp mode. This is solved with a fuel cell designed to not let the fuel slosh.

Generally not a good idea. Kind of like a tune that encounters a lot of knock retardation. The car does protect itself but I wouldn't bet the engine on it.
