Lower engine cover/bracing

Hello, I've been chatting to a Toyota mechanic who said the metal tray under the engine actually acts as a Brace for stability and shouldn't be removed.

Exhaust place removed it when putting my DP on to help with access and its back on now but I've noticed the wheel alignment is off slightly now, wonder if that's why?

Wondering how true that is as it doesn't seen strong enough to make a difference.

I'm sure it provides some level of stiffness but not an appreciable amount. Your alignment is not related to it.

I agree with Guff. I had to take it off to install sway bar but no suspension component is directly linked to it. Also, it needs to be removed to service anything under (except oil change) so it doesn't make sense to adjust wheel alignment every time you service anything.

Thanks guys, could be another reason my alignment is out. I've got front and rear Cusco braces too
