Not quite. Stomp on the clutch and let it go. No need to move that right foot.
But yeah. It's about the experience.
To be very honest, it just sounds cool lol

I was amazed with this 18 M2 on the Ring that had it.

It was fun and it would be nice to have it on the Supra.

Now how to install MHD......

Oh it is, no doubt! I had it on one of my old cars, back when I was into drag racing. Mine did an ignition cut so the car had a satisfying "pop!" When I'd let the clutch out. ? Sounded very serious LOL.

My motorcycles were nice for no lift shifts, but they have their gears cut a wee bit different, if I recall correctly

Most definitely does not have any no lift feature, would need an n2mb wot box or something similar, the real question is how many are experiencing the 1st to 2nd gear grind, nobody seems to want to talk about that ?
Hate to revive an old thread but I have experienced the 1st to 2nd gear grind, and nothing I have tried has fixed it, deleted CDV, bled the clutch, removed power mods (the grind was happening when car was bone stock too). Getting a motorcycle has helped me go easier on the car which has helped it not occur so often, but it seems like a very off and on thing that isn't easily replicated. Definitely seems to be more often occurring during colder temps. Toyota dealer told me it wasn't warranty'able because it's due to the engine mount twisting, making the transmission gates not accurate.

Try turning off the rev matching. I found this makes the 1-2 shift better as the car seems to be rev matching on up-shift.. which is stupid.

And "engine mount twisting" sounds like a typical dealer bullshit response to me.

The major issue with the supra 1st to second shift is it has a very large ratio jump, much greater than the typical medium duty gearbox equivalent in comparable cars. This means the second gear syncro assembly has a lot more work to do. It's just a characteristic of this cars internal gearbox ratio's I'm afraid. If you ran the auto's diff ratio it would help a little and also make it a nicer car to drive I think but first gear is just a bit too low in this gearbox in relation to second gear for clean first to second shifts at maximum attack from a standing start. It's not an issue for me personally because I'm not interested in launching the car from the lights. For me first gear is just to get the car rolling from a dead stop. This car is about 2nd gear up not maximum attack from a standing start. If you want that then you buy the auto.

I agree that 1st is a bit short on these cars, so ratio 1st to 2nd is too large, also I find that 2nd-3rd is also too large of a jump, however 4th-5th is incredibly close. I'm sure there's some BS emissions/MPG reason for it.

You can always get a custom set of gears made ( in dog engagement of course).......until quaife or someone builds a full sequential kit.

Not great fun in traffic unless you wear a helmet to work.

Back to the focus of the thread… has anyone with an upgraded turbo tried the no lift shift? How’s it working with the OTS NLS? Anyone had their tuner revise it?
